August Back To The Basics Tag.

Hello everyone and here we are with something new today.  New for me at least, and that’s always a nice thing.  I like new things.  Generally at least.  Maybe not everything would be good!  I was tagged for this one by my friend Stu and thank you ever so much for this Stu, I appreciate it a lot!!  Stu is a man that is honest and straight forward, tells things like they are and is always there to help others.  Thanks again Stu for your friendship and tagging me for this!

Here are the rules:

1. Thank the person who tagged you and link their post to yours.

2. Link this post so we can read them 😊

3. Use the original featured image and include it in your post.

4. Copy and paste the meaning of the tag into your post.
The Meaning of this Tag:
For many people here in the United States, August means the beginning of a new school year, or at the very least time to prepare for school to begin in early September. It can be very stressful and chaotic. “Back to School” is all over advertisements, television, the internet, grocery stores, department stores…pretty much everywhere you look. It’s a combination of excitement, anxiety, and stress that our society dreads yet looks forward to every year.
In this month’s tag, inspired by the nostalgia of “Back to School” season, Purple Rose and I want to go “Back to the Basics” and reflect on our education and early life. Join us in remembering the sweet smell of freshly opened crayons, the sound of pencils sharpening, and the sight of red ink on the most recently graded assignment…

5. Answer the questions.

6. Tag at least one person.

7. Have fun and enjoy the rest of your month! ❤

Here are the questions:

1. Did you (do you) go to public school or private school? Or, were you (are you) homeschooled? (Please do not share the name of your school XD)

I went to public school.  Talk about an easy question!🤪

2. What was (is) your favorite subject in school?

Science👨‍🔬 and French. (I just wish I could remember it now, sigh😕)

3. What was your favorite grade in school?

Most of them were good really, but I guess grade 9 would be tops.🤸‍♂️

4. Do you prefer pens or pencils? Why?

In school, pens mostly, pencils for drawing (which I did mostly when I wasn’t supposed to be drawing😲). Now, pens mostly, pencils for drawing (which I can do whenever I want now🤪)

5. What was (is) your favorite school lunch?

🍟🍟🍟🍟🍟🍟🍟🍟🍟

6. What is the biggest lesson you have learned in life?

That’s a tough one, there are so many that a person learns.  But, don’t let someone PUSH you into doing something you don’t want to do or be someone you are not.  It never works out.  Never.  It only causes problems and pain for you and others.

7. What do you wish someone taught you a long time ago?

Not to worry what people say or think about you.  It doesn’t matter.  That’s their problem.

Now for this I tag:

Well, that is it for this one, hope you all enjoyed something a little different here today and I hope that everyone enjoys their evening/morning, wherever you happen to live, and God bless!

  1. When I read the question, “what was your favorite grade in school?” I instantly thought letter grades. My favorite was an A+. Like who wouldn’t love an A+ on their math test?

I would agree with you. Grade 9 was a decent year for me as well. Grade 5 was also an OK year for me.

      • I hated grade 11. My bully came back and re-stole all of the friends I had in high school. She was successful at stealing the friends I had in grade 8 as well! Not good memories for me. In grade 8 was I was diagnosed with anorexia because of the bullying not just from her but also the high expectations from my mom. Now I’m passionate about nutrition and healthy eating.

I didn’t mind grade 6 and didn’t find it that bad. I had the same friends that I had from grade 5 so it was actually OK.

  3. Honestly Steve, you and French fries! Funnily enough I saw Poutine advertised today: fries, cheese and gravy. I thought it sounded disgusting!

    Liked by 1 person

    • I agree, it tastes disgusting too, it was invented here in the province of Quebec, which is our French province, back in the 1950s. Very popular now, not sure why!😂

You’re right, sometimes we learn our lessons the hard way.😕 I’m working on the French, it’s nice that all our packaging has to have both English and French on it so right now I’m trying to learn to read it again.😀 Thank you so much Huguette!!🙂 Enjoy your day as well!😃😺🌞🌳

  6. A very big congratulations! I really liked to get a glimpse of your school life. I passed Grade 9 just this April, it was great! And did you really have french fries in school? We don’t half something half as good 😦

    Liked by 1 person

    • No, we didn’t have french fries in school,😕 but we had a McDonald’s right across the street from our school so a lot of us went over there to get fries!🍟🍟😋😋 My next best grades were 6 and 11. The rest were just kind of normal. I hope your day is great!😃😺🌞🌳😻

      • Grade 6 was my worst grade, actually. Grade 11 coming next year and I am excited about it 🙂
Lucky you were to get a McDonald’s nearby. Near our school (in Earth), there is a small kiosk and nothing more. Long winding canals, and trees and brick kilns. In Cygnet, our school is as good as a museum. Most of classrooms underground.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Underground classrooms would be cool! Even underwater would be great, could study ocean animals real easy then. That would be fun. I think we should be more creative with our schools. Enjoy your evening Sophie!😃😺🌙🌳

        Liked by 1 person

      • Actually, the people of White Clan, have underwater classrooms! 🙂
(We have 5 Clans or branches of study at Cygnet)
Their building is actually beneath a pond. They study jellyfish there.
If you wish, you can join our school too ^^ 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      • Haha, it was there already. The Yakaejin (a religious group of Cygnet) love water and have everything related to it. 🙂
Well, I don’t very much like my school days either. 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      • Worst thing in school was some people didn’t like to study and learn so they tried to make it hard for those of us who did want to, bullies in other words, so it made school no fun for me. But I learned to concentrate on my studies and ignore the others and so I did very well anyway. I was going out for a walk, but now it looks like it might rain. Hmm, might try anyway. Enjoy what is left of your day!😃😺🌙🌳

      • You too? Well, just same scenerio for me… To be honest, every day is hard. Honestly they are the reason why I always say “I am in bad mood”…
It’s sad that you could not go to walk. 😔

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yes, it is hard with people around like that who won’t leave us alone. But it’s best to try and ignore what they say and do, not easy sometimes I know. Remember, they are the ones who have the problems, not you. Don’t let them take your happiness.🙂 I decided to go for a walk anyway, it stayed cloudy but it didn’t rain so it was still a nice walk!😀☁ Other people are often the clouds, but we can still have a nice day!🌞😃😺😻🌳

        Liked by 1 person

      • Beautiful words! You are right, it’s their problem. Luckily, in my Cygnet school, bullying don’t happen 😀 They are boys like Haruo and Hibari who keep the bullies in check 🙂
I hope you had a nice walk! You really do like to be outside, it seems. 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      • Good morning! Which is afternoon for you! Good for Cygnet, no bullying allowed. Yes, I had a great walk,🚶‍♂️🙂 I was out longer than I planned to be, but it was so nice. I do enjoy being outside and like to go out as much as possible.😀🌳 Soon winter will be here and I will be indoors again for several months. So I like to enjoy the outdoors while I can!😁🌼🦅 I hope you have a really great day today!!😃😺🌞🌳

      • It would be nice to have that temp here in winter. But we get -30 to -40, sometimes colder!😲🥶 In that weather I stay indoors and drink coffee!☕ And play with Muffin.🐈😄 And this winter I will try to write a book or two.📘📗I hope you are having a wonderful day!!😃😺🌞🌳

        Liked by 1 person

      • Goodness gracious! That cold! I can’t even put a toe outside if I were at your place…. 😅
It’s great coffee exist… ✨💕😃 What would be your book about? Excited to read about it!

        Liked by 1 person

      • That kind of weather is for staying indoors! One would be a book of poems. I seem to be writing a lot of poems lately, more than what I have posted.🙂✍ Several people have encouraged me to publish them. The other book would be about the adventures with my dad.😃 And maybe some that I had by myself as well.😀 And one other possible idea, but that one’s a secret for now.😁

      • You do write amazing poetry so it would be great to see a book compiled with them! Your poems are really refreshing! All my wishes to you 😃✨
And an adventure book does seem interesting! Also intrigued about your secret ideas… 💕😃
