Chipmunk Winter…A Poem.

Chipmunk Winter

Little chipmunks have gone to bed,

Nice soft grass is under their head.

Safe and warm in their little home,

They dream of spring, when they can roam.

For now they’re happy as can be,

Content and warm with food from me.

I can just see them snuggled there,

Curled up so tight without a care.

Now, their home, I would love to see,

Many peanuts they have from me.

They gather them all summer long,

Those chubby cheeks sure must be strong.

A long time now it sure will be,

Before my chipmunks I will see.

  1. No chipmunk too big, no peanut too small! πŸ˜‚ Been watching way too much Paw Patrol with my daughter lately (it’s a terrible show but most little kids shows are).

    • This far north they stay in their dens until spring. They will sometimes come out while there is still snow on the ground in spring if their food runs out too soon. They are cute and very friendly, love having them around.
