That Strange Feeling.

Hi everyone!  Well, it certainly felt more like winter today with that new snow, wind and colder temps.  Not that I wanted it to feel more like winter.  But it came anyway.  Have to expect that this time of year.  November can be an odd winter month for us.  Sometimes it will bring a lot of snow, sometimes not much, like this year.  Some years we can have our coldest temps of the winter, other years much milder, like this one. I had that strange feeling again last night.  That feeling of being watched.  Made me laugh a bit.  It was snowing and cold, who would be out on a night like that?  Right now I leave a light on in the living room so that when I get up during the night I won’t bump into things and injure myself.  Worse, that is.  But I leave the drapes open for Muffin.  She likes to look out the window for a while at night.  This morning when I went out to feed the birds there was human foot prints on the deck and going over to the window.IMG_1013

One of my readers gets a little freaked out when I talk about these things.  So you might not want to read any further “L”.  Notice I just used the first letter of her name.  That way no one knows who it is.  Anyway, this event happened a number of years ago and was the first time anything like this happened to me.  My parents and I had just moved to this house.  We had been gone for a couple hours and when we came back there was all those stacks of packed boxes in every room.  Most of mine were in the dining room at the time. I asked, who opened one of my boxes?  Mom and dad looked at each other.  Then I noticed 2 more of my boxes were open and stuff moved about.😬IMG_5983

Then dad noticed a window was open.  Break in! 😲 Dad told me not to go upstairs to my bedroom.  Too late.  I was already upstairs.  Sure enough, someone had gone through my room and made a big mess.  Obviously someone my size since they took my clothes, including a new jacket I hadn’t had a chance to wear yet.  Plus all my camping gear.  Some miscellaneous items.  And a nice antique clock that had belonged to my grandmother. 😳 Sigh.  That was the worst thing.  Other things could be replaced.  Not that one.  I have been looking ever since.🤔  I did find one once, but it wasn’t working and I couldn’t fix it.  Sigh.  Still looking.😕IMG_5295

Dad called the police.  The usual report was made.  No one caught.  Nothing found.  We didn’t really expect to.  Only my stuff had been stolen so the police figured the person possibly knew me.  Though it could have been random.  It’s enough to give a person that strange feeling sometimes.  It does feel strange knowing that someone has been in your home and gone through your belongings.  That was the first time.  But not the last.

Something different after all the comical posts lately.😂🙄 I hope you enjoyed it anyway, I will share other such things at a later time.  In the end, why worry about such things?  It’s just stuff that can be replaced.  Most of the time.  Better to keep a positive outlook and keep a smile shining.  I hope you have a great evening/day and God bless!

  2. This makes me wonder if someone watched you all move into that house. I would guess a person who figured out you and him were the same size. I know these days ” porch pirates” have been active stealing packages after delivery companies drop them off and no one is home. I would be extra careful at night this being might be waiting for an encounter with you alone. Just my thoughts Steve.

    • Yes indeed, someone very likely had been watching us move in and knew when we wouldn’t be at home. Yes, I do try to be careful, strange things happen these days, thanks. And thanks so much for reading this evening!🙂😺

      • Yes, being careful these days is Number One to survive. Times are different which is sad because we used to trust everyone and never lock doors or cars etc. Now everything has to be locked or bad things happen. I am very sorry you suffered such a loss Steve. Just you and not your parents strange and scary as I said. God bless you and keep you safe from harm. Amen

      • Yes, keeping things locked is so important, and good quality locks. And to think the other night I forgot to lock my door, found out in the morning when I went to feed the birds. Won’t do that again. Thanks so much James, God bless!

  3. Yeah, just the other day I had the feeling someone had gone through my paper file cabinet in my house! Not much there to find as I don’t keep that kind of stuff af home. Then there was the case of my missing leather belt when I was staying in TX over the summer! Never fid find it!! It wasn’t there when I packed everything to come back so it was taken from a locked and secured apartment! Not sure why a belt would be taken? Must have lost weight recently and needed it! Hahaha😂😂😂 Great story Steve!!

I don’t mean to sound insulting, but as an American I always grew up with this impression that Canada was this very nice, polite, peaceful abode up above who had their act together better than the US with healthcare, crime, etc. I think I mentioned that once before. I know crime happens everywhere but geez louise. That’s terrifying. Stay safe. Muffin, too.

    • It is very peaceful in little towns like this. Ladies walking their dogs get shot and killed, people working in stores get stabbed to death, a man brings out his gun and shoots at his family, armed kidnapping, a guy blows himself up on main street. I could go on. Other than that this is a quiet little town. Hmm, I should write a post on all these happenings. By the way, our healthcare is a mess, people wait up to 2 years and longer for serious surgery, doctor shortages everywhere, here a third of the population has no doctor (in our town), not everything is free. But it’s a nice place to live if you like cold weather. Thanks for reading!! Have a great Friday!😃😺⛄🌲

More than post, i enjoyed a lot when Lydia caught you😜 I thought to ask is that Lillian(Orkideatter) not sure if you follow her 🤔 or Lydia, but she just came and surrendered by herself 😉. Poor you, for losing all the stuff to a strange burglars, i hate them too 🙄 when one of my friends caught one my people literally broke his bones, because he not just theft, but threw some poop on water tank🤷 people just really pidded off and dam, he is almost dead before police came. I’m a bit late answering, was out shopping and trying to get some winter pics this morning.😁📷 The sun is actually shining today!😃🌞😸 It’s so nice, but it is cold and windy, -19C,🥶 hard to stay outside long to take pictures today. But it is supposed to get warm today, up to 0. We’ll see if it does🤔🙄. I thought it was nice and warm there all the time. Amazing. Yep, I’m looking forward to warmer weather again too,😎🌞 but it will be a few months yet.😳 Naturally you should be included in the fun comments.😁👍 Always great talking with you, teasing you a bit.       • Hi Steve 😁 Thanks fo concern, was waiting last night awake to talk with my wife, as she was travelling 😉 and about MJO – its called madden julian oscillation, its an intraseason name that lasts upto 30 to 90 days.     • Yes, it is definitely important to be extra careful, people are very careless when it comes to locks. They need to be good quality, even if they are expensive, it’s worth it. Alarm systems are good too. Shall do, and done. Muffin is right beside me sleeping. Have a great afternoon Eugenia!😁😸☕🌞
