Nature’s Art #06.

Hi everyone on this very chilly January day!  It was -29C (-20F) this morning but felt more like -36C (-33F).  That’s getting to be more like a normal winter temp now.  Not that I was missing these colder days, I wasn’t.  The milder temps are much better, and they will be coming back briefly tomorrow and Saturday, then back to cold.  So much up and down this winter.  We still don’t have much snow, but that can change quickly, February and March are the 2 snowiest months for us normally.  I had a nice treat yesterday, a new bird showed up, actually more than 50 of them came by for about half an hour.  They were Bohemian waxwings, a very beautiful winter bird from further north.  Unfortunately it was snowing yesterday so it was hard to get a good pic, but I tried anyway and I hope to post a pic later today.

But now, time for our art in nature pics for today…

Just had to share another picture of rocks under water, they look so cool.  For perspective, the 3 largest rocks are about 3 feet (a little less than a meter) across.IMG_8581

      • I’ll be out there soon taking pics, the birds are taking a break right now but should be back shortly. Guess I will have to wear gloves today though, too bad. Hope you are having a great day Hilary!😁🥶📷☕

    • Sometimes these warm pics are needed, they help remind me that we do get warm weather too.😂😂😹😹🙄Probably lots of crayfish waiting by those rocks waiting to pinch peoples toes!😄🦀🦀 Plus lots of leeches.😬😳Snowstorm headed our way for this afternoon, could get quite a bit of snow this time.😳☃❄❄🌨Have a great evening!😁😸

      • Yeah Steve, Warm picture to remind ourselves the Summer exists and to stay patience 🙂 😉 Crayfish 🙄 Leeches 🙄 i started to hate that place already😳😳 Are you sure that will pinch people toes..       • The crayfish and leeches stay around the rocks, best to stay in the sandy areas and then there’s no problem.😀 Beaches are best for swimming areas. Yep, they will pinch toes and they have big claws for pinching!😲🦀
        Breakfast is over, I’m going out for coffee, then I will stay inside and read blogs while it snows.😀😀 Snow days are good for reading and I need to catch up.🤪🙄 Sigh. And I might write about another adventure today as well. Oh, chapter 8 of my story is out now. It’s the ghost!!😲😲👻

      • Hi Simon! Got quite a bit of reading done, not as much as I hoped though. Not much snow, about 15cm, still snowing now. Steve and Muffin in our chair, sitting down without a care, out the window we do stare, we see snow everywhere!😂😹☃🌨 Have a good evening!😁😸

      • You’re working too hard Simon, it’s Saturday now.🤪🙄I was wrong, it’s only 13cm, oh well, still too much for me to handle right now though I did try a bit.😀🙄 Not very smart. 🤔Now I’m sore.😳🙄 Sigh.       • I think the only part of me that doesn’t hurt now is my feet.😳😳😂🙄Yep, I fell, leaning over to unplug my printer. Sigh. Sometimes I wonder if I’m real.🤪🙄I slept good though, 8 hours again, amazing, 2 nights in a row.😴😀😀Hope you had a great day!

      • Oh, i forgot to mention that, I’m back to spicy land for a week🙄🥵 Had lot of hot water, hope it will Help 😺. Snow again 🥶 wish it end’s soon. Stev don’t listen to Steve because Steve never listens.😋😋😜😜 Yes Steve, Next week back to spicy world 🥵 This time I’m going to stick with some good hotels which i found already. Not ready to compromise on diet part.😁

      • There is still Feb and March, our 2 snowiest months.😳 But maybe we won’t get much snow this winter,🙄 usually we would have twice this much by now, there is only about 30cm on the ground so far.😀🥶🙀I think I have to agree with you, I don’t often listen,🙄 but I do sometimes!😁 I just can’t think of anything at the moment,🤔 but I’m sure I have at some point.😀🙄Enjoy yourself, drink plenty of water, enjoy all the heat.😁😸🌞🌴Or was it colder there?🤔⛄

      • Feb and March… 🤔 hmm that’s just 60 days more plus 10 days😉 😋 30 CM is still high, when this snow disappear does it cause flood 🤔 😜 Sure Steve, mean while I’m going to stick with more water less spicy foods ☺️ It’s still cold at night 🥶 I’m sure you’ll ask is this COLD😳 I’ll go like 19 to 25 C at night 😜 that’s it but we still feel it’s too much as we are not used to that part 😁 and yeah it’s warm, up to 30 C during noon. And i love when it’s warm 😍🥰.. Have a beautiful day Steve☺️

      • We never have problems with flooding here, except a little bit along the river, even there it isn’t bad. This is a land of rock hills, lakes, rivers, streams, so there is a good drainage of water from melting snow. However, it’s never a good idea to build at the bottom of a hill!😂🙄Yes, I can see why that would feel cold for you, 19 to 25 is normal hot summer days for us. But our climate has cooled off a lot from what it used to be. We used to get several weeks in summer with temps 30 to 37,🌞😎 not anymore. Now it’s usually 20 to 27.😕😥 Only rarely do we get up to 30 now. And our winters have gotten worse too, this is our mildest winter in many years.😃⛄Thanks Simon, hope you have a great day as well!😁😸

      • That means you have a perfect drainage system plus you are in land if Rock hills lakes and streams 😍😍😍 I would love to come such place.🤔😒 But your earth is too far, should find a way to teleport myself or shift my soul 🤪😉 only 20 to 27 🙄😒 Earth keeps changing and the climate is getting worse, must accept the fact it’s changing 🤔 must use heater all the time isn’t it ☺️ Congrats you had the mildest winter 🥶 Glad I’m not there, I’ll pass out when it touche -1 🤪😜😂😂 Have a peaceful night Steve ✨🤗

      • I wish I could use my heater in summer, but my landlord won’t let me.😕 So I freeze. Muffin and I wrap ourselves in a blanket to stay warm some days.😁😸🙄 Especially if it’s cloudy, it really gets cold in here.😬😳Time for bed for me. Good night.😀😺🌙

    • Too cold for me too!
      Not these birds, they never come to the feeder, sure wish they would, I have even tried enticing them with berries which is all they eat. Plus things like leftover crab apples and cherries.
      Cold and very windy today with a snowstorm coming soon.😬🥶🌨
