Daily Pics #98.

Good morning everyone!  It’s such a fresh morning with a little rain giving that wondrous spring scent that really does fill the air.  I could just stay out there and breathe in that rain freshness for a long time.  Could get wet though, so probably not a good idea.  Might have to invest in an umbrella.  Especially the way the stores are set up now.  They only allow a certain number of people in the store at one time.  The rest have to stand outside and wait for someone to come out.  If it’s raining a person could get wet.  Not a nice thought.  I have 3 chipmunks here now, Rusty, Skamper and a new one that I decided to call Pocket.  He isn’t too friendly yet, but I finally succeeded in getting him to take a peanut from my fingers.  Next is to get him up on my lap.  Pocket is a young chipmunk and he has decided to take over this territory so he is now top chipmunk and chases the other 2 when he sees them.  So I call them when Pocket isn’t around and they come quite happily, grab their peanuts quickly and go!

And now for our pics of bright beauty from the flowers…

Another beautiful hollyhock in another shade of pink and with that bright yellow center that really glows whether the sun is shining or not.IMG_5235

And then there is this one that is a different shade of pink again, almost a lavender pink, quite different than the other pink ones in my landlord’s garden.  With all the cross pollination going on it seems that every year there is some different colors that show up.  So it will be interesting to see what might show up this year when these flowers once again begin their blooming season.  Which won’t be for a while yet.  But every day brings us closer to a new season of flowers!

Well, I hope you all have a fantastic day, stay safe and God bless!

Steve and Muffin.

    • I can speak a little “chipmunk”, it’s a harder language to learn than “cat”. I just call them by their names. They each know their name, except Pocket, he’s new so doesn’t know his name yet. But Rusty and Skamper know their names.😁😸🐿🐿🐿
Hope you had a good day!😀😺🌞🌙😴😴

      • That’s lovely names chosen. I’m sure pocket will get used to this hooman 😉👌✨ Day was awesome Steve🤗 editing my next chapters ☺️ 26 days challenge 23 chapters over. 3 more I’m still thinking 🤔 I’ll get that too. Steve is there to help ✨🤗

      • Yep, I’m sure Pocket will get used to me quick enough.😁😸
Make it an ending that no one would think of, give it a different twist.🤔🙄 Or not.😂🙄

      • 🤔not that unexpected, but I felt like I wanted some characters to live 🤓 changing script a bit everyday 😂😂

      • 😂😂Sure Steve. I am maintaining my attitude on that part. The other Steve questioned me, what do you think? When you kill all characters you are not going to get good characters in future. He should be right. I should stop killing people in my writing. Steve feels bad about it. So I’m not doing that 😉😌☺️🤓✍️ I’ll keep there a twist 😜😂

      • Getting through it. I’ve had some crazy respiratory symptoms—where I can’t breathe so well…Saturday night was the worst. This virus is no joke. But today the sun is shining in the backyard and virus don’t like sunshine so that is where I am headed. Staying low…🙃

      • Take care of yourself Nina, get lots of rest! That’s for sure it’s no joke. Sunshine does wonders! I pray you are back to normal very soon. Enjoy the sun!😃😺🌞

      • Aww thanks Steve prayers sure are nice. The experience taught me a lot—and for this I’m grateful. Yes, lots of rest—not much of a choice. I slept all day and then all night and most of the next day too! Crazy.

Yes, sunshine does do wonders! Hope you are well. I need to catch up with Muffin and Jessica!😊

      • I’m sick today. I wanted to do an award post this afternoon, but I’m too tired to think right now.🤔😴 I actually slept for almost 2 hours this afternoon.😳 Weird for me as I never sleep during the day, even when I’m really tired I can’t.🌞😀 Sigh.😕 Hopefully I can do better tomorrow. And Muffin is too busy looking after me to write a post!😻 Sigh. Hope I’m better tomorrow to post the conclusion to The Hotel!🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♀️ Oops, forget I said that.😳😂😹

      • Oh no! I’m praying for you too! Get as much rest as you can. And don’t worry—we’ll still be here waiting for you to post when you can think. Muffin you take good care of your Steve and don’t let him do too much…like worry. I hope you are better soon too.🙏🏻🙂🌈

      • Thank you Nina! Well, I feel better than yesterday, but have a ways to go before I’m back to normal. I’m very worn out today, just don’t feel right. Oh well, things happen. We got another 2 inches of snow overnight, really looks like winter again, after such a nice day yesterday. Winter just doesn’t want to leave us. Hope you have a better day today Nina!😃😺😻🌞

      • Good morning, Steve how are you feeling today? Do you have any other symptoms? Fever/chills? I’m still worn out too. Took a three hour nap yesterday.
Wish you would share some of that winter weather with us—no April showers no May flowers! 🌸🙀😳

      • Good morning Nina! I’m feeling better, but still a ways to go, still that worn out feeling. Really, it’s just kind of an odd feeling. I think I could sleep night and day right now. I can actually nap during the day which is normally impossible for me. I think I had a fever the last 3 days, I don’t have a thermometer and stores here have been sold out since early March. But I certainly felt hot. Doesn’t seem to be there today though.
We’re getting April snow, but that won’t bring May flowers, more like June flowers! Oh well, I was out trying to get pics of snowflakes this morning. Trying something different this time, see how it turns out.
Take it easy Nina, rest a lot!😃😺🌞☕☕

    • It’s amazing really, it doesn’t take them long to learn their names. I thought maybe it was the sound of my voice, but when I stay with just the one name, that’s the chipmunk I get, not the others.😁🐿🐿🐿

      • Yes indeed. I can pet the deer and hug them, the bucks I rub their heads around their antlers which they really like and never want me to stop. It gets itchy for them. I saw them trying to scratch one day so thought I would try and help them, wow, did they love that. They groan and lean towards me and if I stop too soon they will give just a gentle nudge and lead towards me again, so I do it more. People say I have a “calming” voice, so maybe that helps.

      • again, amazing. no worries about them nudging you a little too hard with their antlers? I think I have a soothing voice as well, as evidenced by how many students fall asleep in my classes! 🙂

      • They always nudge me with their nose. Amazing animals, they could kill me easily if they wanted to but they always seem to recognize that I’m not a danger. The biggest deer I made friends with was a 12 point buck and he really was big! I called him Bouncer, but he was always so gentle with me and just loved those rubs around his antlers! I didn’t have a camera then or I would have had a lot of great pics.😃😺
That gave me a laugh about the kids in your class!😂

      • Well, it’s not actually legal in town to feed them anymore so I have to be a bit careful. I do have some pics and I think I showed one, that would be last winter sometime. I’ll see if I can find it. Maybe I’ll try it again.

      • He also turned me in for feeding the birds. Seems there is a bylaw that states a bird feeder must be at least 10 feet off the ground. I asked the bylaw officer how I’m supposed to reach that with the food. He said that’s up to me to figure out. That is also a $500 fine, but he let me off with a warning and 2 weeks to change it. So I made it 10 ft 1inch high. I can just reach it from my deck with a long stick with a pie plate attached to put the food out.
