Daily Pics #110.

A quiet morning along the river.

Good morning everyone on this very beautiful Sunday!  Yesterday was a nice day, though not quite as nice as Friday.  It did start off milder than we have had yet I think with a temp of 4C (39F).  But it cooled off during the day with that return of a strong north wind again, dropping the temp to just above freezing in the afternoon and…snow flurries once more.  I must admit to not being very thrilled with seeing snow this time of year.  We should be having rain in April with much warmer temps, but this is now the 5th year in a row with colder than normal temps in April.  Amazing really.  However, on the plus side, the snow melted immediately and the birds, chipmunks and at least one squirrel were busy all day out here bringing much amusement and joy watching them.  And then there was a robin who was singing merrily at 10 pm when it was very much dark outside.  But he was happy, singing his spring song and it sounded so nice.  He must have been quite close since my windows were definitely closed.  A little too cool for me to have open windows.

Today I am sharing two pics from my friend Hilary Tan.  She is another Canadian blogger, though these pics were taken by her in Singapore…

Both of these pics are of orchids, a truly beautiful flower and apparently easy to grow indoors.  I decided to try them and so far they are still alive, but we’ll see if I can get them to bloom again.

I hope you all enjoy your Sunday, please keep safe everyone and God bless!

  3. Hi Steve ! I love the photos ! Orchids are my favourite too. Alas, during this time, no flowers or plants can be purchased here, but at Easter, our grocery store carried potted parsley plants, so I bought one, and it is growing well. 🤗

  4. Thank you for sharing these photos, Steve! The flowers from Singapore really come to life on your blog – I love it! ❤ I sent you another email late last night in response to your previous email. Thank you for collaborating with me. It really means a lot! 🌸

P.S. I didn’t know these flowers were orchids. That is interesting because I actually have an orchid plant my the dining room. As you can see, I am not a flower expert. Luckily, orchids are fairly easy to take care of. 😄

    • My pleasure Hilary.
Orchids are a nice, and large, family of flowers found all over and come in various shapes and sizes. We even have a lot of wild orchids around here.
I hope they really are easy to look after so mine will survive and bloom again. We’ll see!
Thanks for sharing the pics, have a great week!😃😺

      • The ones on my dining room table came from Costco. I am surprised they are doing OK and that my cat hasn’t destroyed them yet. He took a bite or two out of a leaf but otherwise, he haven’t touched them. 🐈

I sent you a few more pics so there’s more options to choose from if you are looking for more flower pics. That’s all I’ve got though, since I mostly took pictures of landscapes and trees. 🌴🌴

      • Thanks so much Hilary for the pics!
Muffin hasn’t tried my orchid yet, but she basically leaves the plants alone now that she has her own grass to eat.
Snowing again this afternoon, was just about to go for a walk because the sun had been shining and I looked out the window and…snow, and not just a few snowflakes, it turned the ground white! But I think it has all melted again.
Spring is coming, I know it is!😂😹🙄

  5. Stopping in to say hey to you and Muffin! Sorry you guys are still getting snow! Those or orchids are gorgeous! And that robin sounds like he is sick of of waiting for the snow to end lol! Have a great day! I still haven’t had a chance to come over and catch up. So sorry! Will soon!

    • Yes, those robins will sometimes sing all night long in spring, especially once the weather warms up a bit more.😁🌞🌙
Hey, that’s cool! I would probably spend a lot of time in a place like that!😃😺
