Daily Pics #140.

Song sparrow singing from the top of a young aspen tree.

Good morning on this terrific Tuesday!  This is such beautiful weather we are having now.  My walk to the river yesterday was fantastic.  The sun was shining brightly, just a gentle southerly breeze and sitting on the bench was just so relaxing.  There was a lot of bird activity, though most of them were not cooperating for pictures.  Many new birds were around, mostly various species of warblers which are some of our most colorful birds.  Unfortunately they are also very small birds so it’s necessary to be fairly close to get a good photo of them.  But they tend to stay higher in the trees so that doesn’t work so good.

I have come to the conclusion that the best fishing must be on the other side of the river.  That’s where all the fish eating ducks like to go and also the kingfishers.  I would love to get a picture of a kingfisher, one bird high on my list, as is the common flicker, which isn’t too common around here it seems.  Oh well, one of these days.

And here we go with today’s spring pics…

The wonderful granite rocky hills that dominate this area reaching upward from the river shore.IMG_4447

All of these granite hills being covered with pines, along the river here it’s mainly white pine and red pine.IMG_3788

I did, however, get a better picture of a brown creeper as it creeps it’s way up the trunk of a white pine.

I hope you all have a wonderful day, stay safe and God bless!

  2. Is it de ja vu? 🤔 I read this post and even commented but I can’t see it.🙄 wait 🤨🤔 maybe I’ve not posted comments, I’m posting now😁 have you been to the other side 🤔 the ducks fav place 😉 wow, wonderful granite rocks, first time I’m seeing one, in our country if someone discovers a granite Mountain, that’s it, all granites will be treated as money and it will be exported. Crazy people 😂 selling stones 🤓 Have a beautiful day Steve ✨🤗

    • No, I’ve never gone to the other side of the river.🤔 There is a path on that side too but it’s a 6km walk,😳🚶‍♂️ a little too far for me right now.😛🤪 It would be an interesting walk though. Perhaps one day. That’s all we have in this part of Ontario, granite rocks, beautiful rocks!😛😁😀
Hope you have a wonderful day Simon, mine has been great!😁😸🌞📷🚶‍♂️🏞

      • I’m telling you, if in india if someone discovers such place, that’s it, it wil be in pieces they’ll grind out every single piece of it 😂 but it still a stone that’s it 😜😂 6km is really far, don’t try to walk that long in shot, not a good idea now 🤔 I think. Take care Steve ✨🤗

      • Lots of people buy stones. I’m one of them! Bet you didn’t know that one! I collect rocks and minerals from all over, though mostly from Canada, but I have a few from all over the world. Yep, 6km is too long, probably never walk that long again.😕🚶‍♂️ That’s okay, there are a lot of other walking paths around town,😀🚶‍♂️ some long and some short so I want to try some new ones this year if I can.🤔 Not all are open yet though, but will be in June.😀
        Have a great evening Simon!😁😸🌞🌙

      • Ha,ha,ha!! No, not stones, rocks and minerals. Mostly it’s minerals with a few sample rocks. Minerals are very interesting, very colorful, a wonderful part of our natural world. You wouldn’t have a phone without minerals, or a computer or anything digital, all requires minerals to work. So they are also very important.🤔🙂 I’m going to show part of my mineral collection some day in a blog post. Have to take some good pictures first.😜📷
A little rain coming this weekend then back to warm sunshine again. This is so nice, warmer than it should be this time of year. It was 28 yesterday, today should be the same. Normal is 20. Time for lunch, then a walk.😎🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🌳🌞 Have a great evening Simon!😀😺🌞🌙

      • I think it’s because we get so much cold over here that the heat just feels so good. I always have a lot of energy when it’s hot🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️ and I feel so good.🤸‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏋️‍♂️💪 Ilona always asked me, “how do you have so much energy in all this heat?”🤔😳 That’s just me!😃😺🌞🌞😎🌴🌴🌴🌴
