Good morning everyone! It is another beautiful spring morning as I sit outside once again with my cup of coffee listening to all the different birds singing far and near. The green is really beginning to show up so nicely among the trees now. As the sun climbs over the hill and touches the tops of those trees, the emerald green of the new leaves shines ever so brightly. The loud laughing call of the pileated woodpecker comes from the neighbors black ash trees as it searches for some breakfast. Sir George is once again on the feeder enjoying his breakfast as well, periodically looking over at me to talk for a bit.
A cape may warbler is singing from a nearby tree, and so is a chestnut-sided warbler, one of my favorites. Both of these birds are brightly colored, but small, so I would have to be standing close to them to get a decent picture. But sitting here with my binoculars I can get a very nice view of them. Hopefully my neighbors don’t see me with my binoculars aimed towards their house. But that’s the direction of the birds. Have to be careful these days. And I saw my first hummingbird of the year yesterday. He was inspecting the spot I had the feeder hanging at last year, so I had to quickly get it out there again. It wasn’t long and he was visiting the feeder enjoying some quick energy.
Spring flowers have begun to bloom…
Yes, the lowly dandelion, the flower that people love to hate. Personally I think it’s quite pretty, plus the entire plant from flower to roots is edible and full of vitamins.
And the wild black currant bush has begun blooming as well. There is only a few of these bushes along the path to the river.
I hope you all have a most wonderful day, stay safe and God bless!
