Good morning to everyone on this marvelous Monday and Happy June as well! It’s a mild and cloudy morning here and we are supposed to have some rain showers today and possibly a thunderstorm later in the day. It is getting very dry right now so we do need the rain. The blueberries are blooming so nicely right now but at least a third of what I saw out walking yesterday are drying up. Might be a bit late for those bushes this year, but rain will help the rest of them. With everything growing right now the ground dries out rather quickly, so rain is needed on a regular basis this time of the year.

It was very nice yesterday and I had a very enjoyable walk down to the river again, I hadn’t been there for a couple of days. Several new wildflowers were blooming and there seemed to be a greater abundance of smaller birds, such as the warblers, all along the path. But with all the leaves out now it’s impossible to get pictures of these small birds, but it’s nice to enjoy all their different songs while walking. Scramble, the squirrel, was around and actually stayed quite close to me for a while as I talked with him. He just sat and at one point lay down on a fallen branch. He still isn’t quite brave enough to take the peanut from my fingers, so I toss it to him, still keeping it as close as possible to me and he comes then to retrieve it. One of these days he will be brave enough.

And now for today’s pictures to share with you…

Above we have the male goldfinch at one of my feeders enjoying a nice breakfast of sunflower seeds with the early morning sun shining directly on his bright yellow feathers.

And in the above picture we have a pine siskin enjoying himself in the apple tree again with the early morning sun shining on him. He is waiting his turn at the feeder right then. I hope you like these two pics this morning, Happy Monday and God bless!

      • Slowly but surely. Tomorrow cafes and restaurants can open, we sunbathe on the beach, use the Domaine swimming pool all while observing social distancing.

      • I would’ve thought it would be the other way round but maybe it’s because we live a more outdoor life.

      • The southern part of our province is still getting hundreds of new cases daily. Up here in the north there is nothing happening, but our premier wants the whole province to do things as a whole, however, he might be letting the north open more soon. We’ll see.

    • Good morning Ribana! Yes, amazing what can be done with peanuts. Unfortunately I don’t see him every day so that slows things down a bit, but it won’t be long now I’m sure.😁🐿🥜
      It’s a cloudy rainy day so Muffin says it’s a good day to nap. Likely be another 4 hours before I see her again!😂😹

      Yes, those goldfinches are brightly colored birds in the summer.😁🌞📷
      Yep, more flower pics coming, I was just kind of “hanging around” a place yesterday trying to get those bearberry flowers but didn’t do it.🙃📷 Will have to try another spot next time. No pics today though, it’s raining.😕🌧

      • Ye Steve, got stuck with new calls😜😂. I’m not slow 😁 the moment I saw I commented, you are too early 😜. What it’s raining 😍 I wish it could rain here, it’s super hot 🙄 let’s see coming days it might get cold because of the new storm forming far far away it will reduce our temperature at least 😉

      • Hehe. The rain stopped, didn’t really get much, now the sun is shining and it’s getting sort of hot,🌞😎 should hit close to 30 today. Hopefully I can get my walk done before the rain comes back.😄🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️ Hope the storm helps you, gives you some relief anyway from the heat.😀 What a strange thing to say!😂😹
