For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning! I hope everyone is feeling well and having a great day so far. It is a nice sunny morning here, except we can’t see the sun at the moment due to the thick layer of clouds. But even when those dark clouds show up, the sun still shines. We had a large thunderstorm last night, lots of lightning and, of course, thunder. Some thunder so loud it shook my apartment. Then the power went off. Muffin and I sitting in the dark. Muffin was not enjoying herself, but this time she didn’t hide under the bed, she stayed with me. It was kind of quiet outside on the deck this morning. I didn’t stay out there very long, too wet and cool. Sir George and Lady Pearl were first this morning, then Sir Charles and followed by Sir Henry.
Skamper was the first chipmunk and the only chipmunk I have seen this morning. He comes along and I put my finger down which he grabs and I lift him onto my other hand. Then I give him some peanuts. It’s an odd arrangement, but it does work. A robin is singing across the street and a red-eyed vireo over on this side of the street. Plus, very close by, is a black-throated green warbler. They really are a pretty warbler and have a very nice song. The loons are also busy once again, flying around and laughing. And there is a couple of loons in the distance with their longer cry, just so beautiful.
For our pics today, at the top we have the purple vetch, the third vetch variety we have here. There are still two more vetches to see.
In the pic above are some “harebells”, a very common wildflower. They can grow on very rocky hills with little soil. This year seems to be an extra good year for them. These are definitely one of my top favorite wildflowers. Please do not pick wildflowers, enjoy them where they are, take a picture and leave them for others to enjoy. So many of our wildflowers are gone or have become rare, though once common, all because people pick them. Many wildflowers will never bloom again if picked. Thank you. I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.

Wow, that’s cool that you have the same flowers in Italy! Yes, they are a very delicate flower and yet a tough one too.
Skamper and I are learning new tricks, now if I can just get a picture of this!ππΏπ·
Have a wonderful evening Ribana!ππΊπββ

If tourists go to Italy and it happens to ask for directions and how to reach a certain place , would the locals help and lead the tourists ?

Beautiful pics!
Sorry to hear about those thunderstorms. Doesn’t sound very pleasant.
I’m also one of those “please do not pick wildflowers” kinds of people.

Yeah. According to WP, it says you posted 10 hours ago and that’s when I commented. Simon commented 8 hours ago. That’s a huge deal! Who cares who was before me.

In France , if foreigners ask about directions and how to reach a certain places , would the citizens be happy to help and answer ?

Good morning Simon! Hey, I got it right this time! All the other chipmunks showed up, they were just a little late for some reason. A new fact every morning?π³π Then I would have to think.π€ Hmm, that would be tough.ππ³ Maybe Muffin could handle that part?π€πΊ I’ll ask her and see what she says.πΉπ It turned out nice and sunny but a bit on the cool side.πππ€ͺ
