Good morning everyone! It’s a warm, sunny morning here at Steve’s Country. And I’m late again. I was going to be earlier this morning, but, the internet wasn’t working. Naturally. Seems to happen a lot around here. I think perhaps I will start posting my daily pics at a new time, then I won’t be late. So my late time will be my new time so I will be on time once again. I think. Skamper was the first chipmunk here this morning, but the others were close behind. I haven’t seen Rocky for 2 days now, only Jasper, and he is finally learning to chase the chipmunks. I knew it would happen sooner or later. Poor Jasper is in for a tough time taking on the chipmunks though. Yesterday I decided to try something new and put the food around in 4 places, the regular spot and 3 new locations. I figured the chipmunks would find the new spots quickly, and they did. Jasper continued at the old spot so it was quite peaceful for a bit.

Then Jasper had just picked up a peanut when he spotted Skamper just coming on the deck. The chase was on. Around the flower pots they went until Skamper took a sudden 180 degree turn. Jasper isn’t quite as agile but he tried, and slid, head first into one of the flower pots. That peanut must have jammed into his mouth quite solidly. He probably had a hard time getting it out later. By the time he got himself composed again, Skamper was long gone, so Jasper left. Skamper returned right away, got his peanuts and left long before Jasper returned. This morning I put some food out for Sir Henry and I guess Jasper wanted to take a look so he ran up there right away, just as Sir Henry came and landed on the feeder. Poor Jasper. He jumped, ran in circles and…down he went, plop. At least there are no raspberry plants in that spot and Jasper came running back up, just as Sir Henry flew off. Poor Jasper. He went crazy and flew off the deck right into a patch of raspberry plants. I’m not sure if he’s been back since. Those big birds really scare Jasper.

Well, our featured image at the top is another different color of those odd looking flowers with the long “antennae”. Yes, I know they are not, just looks like it. They are pretty flowers though. Then in the pic above is a bright, though quite small, sunflower. One of these seeds managed to survive being found and grew. It’s only a foot (30cm) tall with a small 3 inch (7.5cm) flower, but so nice, bright and cheerful! I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday and God bless!

  2. I’m only awake at this hour because the rugrat kicked me out of my bed. She kept me up until 3:30am so I’m feeling extremely tired right now. Also, I made the mistake of drinking caffeinated coffee at 10pm last night. I’m currently regretting what I did last night 😂

    As usual, nice pics! Tbh I skimmed your post because I was too excited to leave a reply. I would say time for more coffee but I don’t have any in the apartment. 😴

    • I was feeling sorry for you until you mentioned the coffee. Are you sure it was your daughter keeping you awake?🤔😂😹
      Wow, my posts get you that excited?🤔 That’s great!😄🤸‍♂️ But no coffee in the apartment??😲 That’s terrifying!😳😳☕

      • She keeps me awake until 3am most nights. It’s a constant battle trying to get her on a sleep schedule. I wish she was in daycare – at at least she woke up at normal times. She also kicks down her gate at night and refuses to sleep in her own bed. Whenever I try to sleep in her bed, she follows me around like a puppy dog. It’s cute and all but not at 3 or 4am in the morning 🙄

        If I could cut out coffee and replace it with your blog posts I would. If only virtual caffeine worked like that. 😂

      • Wow, a little night owl! Does she sleep all day? Kicking down her gate too. Hmm, maybe she needs to have her bedroom redone so she will want to stay there. No, I can understand it wouldn’t be cute at that time of night.

      • It was a great day. Since I didn’t go for a walk I did some cleaning instead and also did my workout at home too. At least I can always do that!😁😸🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️

      • I’m not fat🙄🧐 It’s a itsy bitsy fat, and I can handle it 😳🤔 I think 🙄 it’s hard, I have to accept it. Me being used to bones for 32 yrs and all of a sudden having a little bit of fat is truly uncomfortable 😁 looks like my pants are laughing at me 😂, you joined too 🙄

      • You’re still doing it to me!😜 I agree, going just a little above my normal is uncomfortable for me too.🤪 I know where I’m most comfortable and try to stay very close to that weight all the time.😀 I’m overweight a bit myself right now!🙄 I’m laughing too much, it’s hard to type!😂😂🤣🤣😹

      • Hi Steve, doing that 🙄 there was a slight change in the plan, I will be following from tomorrow, as today it was full of snacks 😜😂🤣My wife said i should watch my food, I think I watched too much and ate it 😂😜🤣

      • I type the shape and colour of the flowers and Google it, I find similar images, and then and then and then until I find the match 😋 it was easy, for me 😁 may noy be easy, need patience first 😇. Yes I’m walking with my sucked stomach. look like I got thin, but then when I sit, the bag comes out ,🤣😜😂

      • Oh my, you shouldn’t make me laugh so much Simon!😂😂🤣🤣
        I try that way to search also and it usually shows me flowers that don’t look like the ones I have!🙄

      • 🤣😂☺️that happens a lot with me too 🤣😂 first I choose the colour and if isn’t matching I count the petals and search for 5 petals flower names and so on ☺️😉

      • I asked for a 4 petal flower once and it showed me daisies!😲🤪 Daisies have lots of petals, not 4, Google can’t count!🤣🤣

    • Thank you so much Ribana! Yes, Jasper is having problems,😜 but if he would leave the chipmunks alone it would work out good for everyone!😁🐿🐿 Maybe he will learn.😂😹🙄

  11. Sorry to take so long but i just couldn’t remember until lately. The spidery flower is a Cleome..Very pretty but…it can take over and come up over here and over there and just any where it wants to.

    • That’s right! Thanks for reminding me of that one. I knew it but I couldn’t remember the name of it. I have been away from gardening too long. I have never actually tried growing Cleome before, but I remember seeing it at our local nursery. They look after our town flower displays, which is where many of my flower pics are from. Thanks again!
