Good morning everyone! I’m happy to see you all once again. First, my apologies for not mentioning my new series yesterday which is “Steve’s Country Cabin Journal”. I was supposed to talk about another scary item on yesterday’s Daily Pics but decided to use it in the first post of that new series. But I forgot to mention it. Sigh. Typical for me. More on some changes that will be happening in a different post. It’s cold again this morning, but we have to get used to that. So that makes it a little harder to watch my furry, and feathered, friends in the morning. But we are getting fewer birds all the time, though there is a lot of grackles around. But they don’t stay long, which is probably a good thing. They eat a lot and they scare the other birds, even the blue jays. Jasper didn’t show up at all yesterday, but he was here for a short time this morning. I think some of my chipmunks have gone to bed for the winter, which is normal for that to happen this time of year. But it’s sad too. They really are not a cold loving animal, they like warm weather. Maybe that’s why we get along so well!

But Coffee, Skamper and Skatter are still coming anyway. Coffee is enjoying the fact there is less competition now. Mostly it’s the blue jays that are a problem now and he doesn’t really pay much attention to them. The blue jays come, spread their wings and tails to make themselves look bigger, why I’m not sure, they are already more than twice the size of Coffee. Then they snap at him to scare him away from the peanuts which they also want. Coffee, and the other chipmunks, just sits there getting his fill of peanuts before running off. That probably annoys the blue jays a bit. Before when all the chipmunks were here it was a little hard for the blue jays to even get at the peanuts since it was just a steady stream of chipmunks coming until the peanuts were gone. However, like with Jasper, I always made sure the blue jays got their share of peanuts too. I’m not sure what Jasper is doing, he’s finished with the walnuts, but he’s still not coming much. I think he prefers playing with the chipmunks and not with the blue jays. Just don’t cross that street Jasper!

More fall colors for our featured image at the top today. And in the above pic, a colorful array of zinnia, and marigolds. They actually make a nice fall display as well. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday and God bless!

  4. U did mentioned in the title right 🤔 u still wanted to mention it elsewhere 😳 It got cold again? 🙄Sigh, a complicated climate. I’m going to miss Jasper for a while, while he is away sleeping 🥶. Blue Jays are smart pretending to look bigger and protect their food 😄 that is cute. Hope Jasper doesn’t cross the street🤔 Hey how about you build an underground passage for them 🤪because Mars is bigger than earth, and earth’s hat has so much of water that can rise upto 36 ft if it all melts, and nobody is bothered about global warming 😵😵😵😵.🤔🙄😳 I was trying to say 🙄🤔uh… Yeah, Wonderful post Steve, Have a beautiful day ✨🤗

    • Jasper doesn’t go to sleep like the chipmunks, squirrels stay awake all winter. Squirrels are crazy like people!🤪 It was a cold, rainy day,🥶🌧 so I stayed inside except for a short walk.🚶‍♂️

      • Hey I think that’s why squirrels live longer then Chipmunks 😉🤪😄 That looks like a coincidence here too cold and rainy was 24C then it gone up to 27 C now😂. Month beginning fresh start of the month 😻✨ its cloudy here, it’s definitely going to rain 😒. I’ll manage 😁

      • It was cloudy with some snow flurries earlier at 7am, now it’s sunny and 0C.🥶🌞🙀 Lots of ice out there,🤕 found out the hard way.🙄 Happy International Coffee Day!!😋😋☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕😹

      • It actually just looked wet, not icy, but I found out when I stepped on it. I wasn’t being extra careful since it only looked wet. Sigh.🙄 Hurt?🤔 Only when I laugh.😂😳 hahahahahaha.😲 My back will feel better by this evening, hopefully my neck will be too.🙄

      • 🤔😄 you says not much coffee and I found sense lot of coffee cups 🤪 and is okay stay indoors. Dont go outside as it is wet and cold too 😉 hey I missed some of your posts… here I come to read…😁

      • I was outside for awhile sitting with Coffee and Pocket, 2 of the chipmunks that were brave enough to come out today. And Jasper showed up for a short time this afternoon too.

      • It got all the way up to 3C yesterday.🥳 Yes, I need to buy some gloves,🙄 I threw out my old ones in the spring, they had holes. But stores don’t have gloves in stock yet, too early.😳 Sigh.🙄 Yes, the cold dries out my skin, then it cracks and bleeds,😬🖐 so I like to wear gloves. Jasper is still nervous as ever! He needs a long vacation at a tropical beach!😂🏖⛱🌴🌴

      • I mis read at 32 C 🙄 my eyes hav problem too 😒 that’s bad. You better get one soon or try to order online and keep yourself warm 🤗✨ yep you have mentioned that before that’s why, you should try some oil or skin lotions to avoid getting skin cracks 😱. Jasper is nervous ☺️ he definitely needs a long vacation😁

      • I do use a skin lotion,😀 when I remember,🤔 problem is I usually forget.🙄 Oh no, I’ve started repeating myself!😳🙀 That’s a sign of, um, a sign of, um, I forget,🙄 but it’s something anyway!😂😹

  5. I’m glad the squirrels do not sleep for the winter like the chipmunks…they are so much fun in the snow ! Maybe Jasper had one too many knocks on the head ! Or just taking it easy for a bit…love the pics ! ☕️☕️🙂😺

    • Yes, squirrels do like to play in the snow. I think Jasper might be out looking for a mate, it’s that time of year.😁❤ I just hope he doesn’t try crossing the street.😬

    • I think Jasper is looking for a girlfriend right now, it’s that time of year for squirrels. Maybe he’ll be back afterwards. Maybe he’ll even bring her with him.😀😸
      Yes, those colors are nice,😁🍁🍂😺 too bad that this cool, wet and windy weather came along and is knocking those leaves off fast.😳🍂 It’s a short year for colors this year.😕
