For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning and Happy Sunday everyone! The sky is blue, but the sun is not yet shining. There is a very strong but mild south wind blowing. The forecast is for lots of rain later today, with thunderstorms, then cooling off through the week. But that could change. My evening grosbeaks are still around, which is very nice. The sun is now shining making the remaining yellow leaves glow so brightly. It makes those evening grosbeaks glow as well. I haven’t seen Jasper or Coffee this morning, but I’m sure they will show up later. Yesterday Coffee was here and had picked up his peanuts and he spotted Jasper coming, so over the edge he went. Jasper kind of spotted Coffee, I think. He ran over to the edge of the deck and looked, but in a way that seemed like he wasn’t sure he had seen anything. Later, Coffee was back and Jasper showed up and the chase was on! Coffee ran down the stairs, Jasper decided on a short cut by jumping onto the trash can lid and over onto the stairs.
Unfortunately he must have forgotten that the lid is slippery. And he slid. And he was airborne, legs flapping hard. Didn’t help him though, he came crashing down. But back up the stairs he came, shaking his head a bit. Coffee came up right after him. And stopped. Jasper was at the peanuts. But he spotted Coffee and the chase was on! Coffee went down the stairs. So did Jasper. But for some reason Jasper must have slipped, or tripped, because he went rolling down the stairs. He looked around, shook his head again, Coffee was nowhere in sight. Jasper came back up and stopped at the top of the stairs. Coffee was at the bottom, just starting to come up. Both froze. The chase was on! Coffee went under the deck. Jasper missed the turn and slammed into a tree stump. But he kept going. And he came back a short time later. I gave him a peanut and off he went. Then Coffee came, got his peanuts and off he went too.
The featured image today is a double fire orange daylily, a nice color for fall, even though they bloom from mid to late summer. And in the pic above is the spotted touch-me-not, also a nice fall color, it is a wildflower that blooms during the summer, usually in wet areas. I hope you all have a beautiful day and God bless!

Is the spotted touch me not the same as jewelweed? if so it is good for poison ivy rash.

It is the same plant. Yes, I have heard that, not something I need though, poison ivy doesn’t bother me thankfully. My dad always had major problems with poison ivy.

On my path the other day I noticed a gathering of kittens. My first stop noticed eating containers. My next stop , dry food in them . Someone is taking care of em.
