Good morning and Happy Saturday everyone! I’m sure many of you are ready to enjoy the weekend now, though some still have to work on weekends too. It’s good to have some time to relax, we really do need that, even if it’s just one day. Perhaps a day for shopping, going to the park, day hikes or just a day to do nothing except relax at home, read a book, watch your favorite movie, or whatever. Muffin and I are having our morning playtime, even while I write this. I kind of go back and forth. Then suddenly Muffin says, “that’s enough, time for nap” and I go to tuck her in, which takes about 10 minutes. She likes to cuddle a bit before having her nap. Then fluff her pillow, make sure the blanket is around her just right, then rub her forehead for a little bit and soon she is in cat dreamland. I often wonder what she dreams about. Hopefully she doesn’t have nightbears. Speaking of bears. I remembered to bring my bird feeders in last night while it was still daylight. It was sort of daylight. Well, it was nearly dark but I could still see a bit of daylight out there. Especially with the deck light turned on. Sigh. But I got them in early, that’s the main thing. Then off to the bathroom. When I came back out Muffin jumped down from the window and came running over to me.

Well, she came running over and stood behind me. I looked at her. Those eyes were terrified. It’s only been a few minutes since I was out there, can’t be a bear. Then I heard a loud ‘clump’. So I go and take a look. Muffin decided to stay in the kitchen. Sure, make me go by myself. I turn the deck light on and another bear was out there. This is bear #4 and the biggest of them. I put markers out so I could get a better idea of the sizes of these bears. This one was about 6 and a half feet long, more than 3 feet high from the deck to the top of his back and he was fat! He had a shorter head than the others and it was huge. The whole bear was big, just measure it out and see. That head was the most amazing part of him though. Then he spotted me looking out the window and he came up and put his front paws on a couple boxes that were there and we looked straight at each other! Muffin had come closer to me but when she saw the bear at the window like that it was just too much, and under a cabinet she went! He even opened his mouth a bit so I could see it’s teeth. What a picture that would be! I also thought how easy it would be for that critter to come inside through that window. I would be going out the other window very fast. This bear was certainly big all around. Beautiful shiny black fur too.

On the smaller side, our featured image is a pic of Jasper who decided to take a rest after chasing chipmunks back in August. And the pic above is one of many bee pics I was able to get this summer while sitting among those blue flowers. I was literally surrounded by dozens of bees while getting these pics. Jasper 🐿️ looks lovely 😍😍 and the bee 🐝 too🥰 why it’s always so many bears 🐻 around🤔 maybe they love you so much like we all do 😍 hope you are fully awake now, i sometime wonder too, what these cats dream anyway? 🙄 sleeping like it worked all day, but they did nothing but walk around swishing the tails and say meow few times and sharpen the claws clean themselves, oops I think they do a lot, they deserve to sleep 🤪 Have a lovely Saturday Steve😍

    • Thanks Simon, this time of year there are a lot of bears in town looking for food,🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻 any kind of food,🍕🌭🍟🍔🍞🥗🍗 to help fatten them up a bit more before hibernation time. There’s no natural food for them now so they come into town. It is a great day, the sun is even shining a bit!🌞 Have a good night Simon!😄🌙

      • with so much big forest, they don’t have a natural food 😳 my god, can’t believe that. 😒. But government shud try feed them with bear pedigree to fatten them up 😜. Sun is shining 😍 here its raining 25 C again🤪

      • Black bears eat plants, berries, ants, termites, bugs. None of that around now, too cold, so they come into town looking for food, garbage mostly, they will eat most anything they can get right now. They are not hunters so aside from their natural food they scavenge dead animals a bit if they find them. They are an odd animal, big and they eat such small things! It’s been snowing a bit today, nothing much though and it’s still cold.🥶🙄🤪🧊🐻😬

      • Such a big animal, and finds taste in such tiny living beings 🤔hmm we should try that too ☺️😉 not right now anyway😜 maybe when we go to Mars 😁 Mars seems to be lot colder than earth, and like Musk had that idea nuking Mars and make it warm 😅. may be we should try to change climate of planet earth to save it from the global warming, oh wait, that’s what it does, save earth from the heat. So have fun with the cold and snow while I suffer for 26 C here 🤪. Hope ur Sunday was good ✨💐🎉

      • I forgot to also mention that bears have a sweet tooth and love honey, so they go after bee hives,😳🐝 hornet hives, wasp hives, looking for their favorite sweet treat!🍯🍯🍯🐻 26 is just a nice temp, not too hot, just perfect.😁😸 Sunday was good, except for the pain.       • Very Good Morning Steve, Hope the pain hours are over 🙂. Bees are sweet tooth 😃 Just like me 😍 i should look like one too, wait am I fat? glad I am not.😂yep it’s a perfect climate for me to get cold 😜 its still warm anyway I’m just too sensitive too cold 🤪 -Have a lovely week Steve ✨😄🤗

  5. Please be careful at all times…bears are not to be played with…I wonder why they do not attack the deer population…that should satisfy them …or not…that would be sad to see a bear go after a deer…have a good night both of you ! ☕️☕️😻🙂🐻🐻🐻🐻

    • Much too hard to catch a deer. Deer are not only fast but jump and turn fast too. Bears are not really hunters of large animals, they eat mostly plants and ants/termites. Plus garbage. I’m always careful, but I can’t stop them from coming around. Enjoy your night also.😀😺🌙

    • Yes, I wouldn’t want to be outside when that big bear comes around!🤪🐻 Jasper is certainly a nice squirrel. Now I just need to find a little couch for him to lie down on so I can help analyze his problems.😂😹
      I’m afraid of bees too,😬🐝 it wasn’t easy for me to sit in the middle of all those bees to get pictures, and to stay calm!😲🐝 First time I have been able to do that!😁📷

  9. Interesting to see how you live in the middle of bear and bees. 🐻 if we don’t disturb the bees they will not attack us. That jasper looks so beautiful Steve. 💌
