Coffee At Steve’s Country #36.

Good morning to all of you and Happy Friday as well! Help yourself to some coffee, sit back and relax with us again today. It’s a bit on the chilly side this morning with a temp of -8F (-22C) but with that wind it feels like -30F (-34C). I can believe that. I went out to feed the birds and had to clear the snow off the feeders again, as well as the deck, and I was cold after that short trip outdoors. And the cold weather hasn’t quite reached us yet, that starts tomorrow.

Oh well, the joys of a northern winter. And really, this winter has not been a bad one, it has been much milder than normal and less snow. But we have had some cold weather too already, but we’re getting closer to spring all the time. The days are getting longer. The chickadees used to be gone by 4:20pm, heading off to their beds, now they don’t leave until 5:10pm. The birds are busy getting their breakfast right now. They look cold, feet and legs are pulled up under their puffed out feathers to keep warm.

Speaking of birds, today is supposed to be another more in depth look at one of our birds. However, due to a mix up on my part, that will be tomorrow instead. Since Saturday is scenery day, then we will be having some nice winter scenery pics today. Just changing the two days around. It will just be for this week though. I’ll blame it on my tooth, which is still paining. Three dentists have looked at it, all agreed the tooth must come out, none of them will pull it however. Too risky, too dangerous.

Time to start that uphill climb.

So now I need to see an oral surgeon, but that could take awhile. Meanwhile I’m not getting much sleep and I’m not eating properly, though I’m doing a bit better on the eating part now. But it would be nice to sleep again. Oh well, the grosbeaks haven’t shown up yet, all the other birds are here, that’s very strange. Well, that’s it for now, but I will be back later and don’t forget, another chapter of our mystery story will be here as well. I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and God bless!

  1. Did you go for a walk 😳 in this cold 😳😳 it’s definitely the coffee 🙄 why did you do this? Be careful while you go out 😉 stay warm and the spring is getting close be prepared. meet the oral surgeon soon an get it done, hope the pain will fade away soon…. Stay strong Steve. take care .     • You’re first, good for you! I knew you could do it. It wasn’t cold when I went for a walk, it was -4C, a nice day. I won’t be going out much the next few days though, time to hibernate for a bit and drink lots of COFFEE!!😂😂😹😹☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕

      • -4C isn’t a cold degree? only Uncle Steve could say such thing 🙄😳 It’s cold for me it’s a deadly cold 😳😳. yeah that’s right, hibernate get yourself some sleep, and let the pain subside… and more coffee 🤔 how will you hibernate with coffee 🤔😳🙄 coffee will let you stay awake isn’t it 🤔

      • That’s a mild temperature Simon, today with the wind blowing it’s -41C,😳 now that’s getting cold,🥶 but colder is coming tonight!🥶🥶 Oh well, I’ll stay awake when I hibernate and drink my coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee….😁😋☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕☕

      • I agree, I’m from the planet Zercoff,🛸 a planet made of coffee!☕☕☕☕ Everyone stays awake,😳😳😳 no sleeping. It’s cold, very cold, and even colder.🥶🥶🥶 Must be time for bed, or maybe more coffee?🤪😴🤭

      • But maybe if I fill myself with nice hot coffee I won’t feel the cold so much,🤔☕☕☕☕☕☕☕ and it is cold this morning.😳 Terrible cold.😬 Unbelievable cold.😲 Colder than cold.🙀 Freeze skin in less than 3 minutes cold.🥶🥶 Mind numbing cold.🥶🥶🥶

      • Yep, more clothes is the answer. And special winter clothes if someone wants to stay outside longer. Each year it gets harder to survive these cold days. It’s -47C this morning!!😳🥶😬🥶😲🥶😳

      • I have to go out and feed the birds, and pick up my mail, and shovel snow since this wind keeps blowing the snow back into my walkway!😳 Oh well.🤪 Now they say it will stay cold like this right to next weekend, no warming in sight.😬🥶 Sigh. The joys of winter.😁🙄

  5. Steve, your winter pics would usually make me feel cold. However, Old Man Winter has decided to schedule an extended stay in central Ohio. Snow on the ground and some “blessed” Arctic cold coming soon. Wind chills will be the coldest we have seen here in quite some time. Sounds like some extra morning coffee will help.

    • Hmm, that Arctic chill is going a long ways south, it has hit us already and it’s going to be cold for a week or more. Definitely more coffee will be needed!
