Good morning everyone and Happy Sunday! It’s a beautiful sunny morning here, but we’re back to cold once more. Not as cold as before however, still it’s not warm, with a temp of -10F (-23C). Tonight will be even colder. February is leaving us with one last blast of cold weather. The last day of February, now that is nice, the main part of winter is over. Tomorrow is March, the beginning of spring, well, I like to think so anyway.

Hollyhock.

The days are longer and even though the temp might still be below freezing, the snow will begin to melt. All those hillsides that face south is where the snow melts first and it can start to melt in those areas even with temps as cold as 5F (-15C). It has to do with the angle of the sun hitting the sides of the hills, and the snow disappears. Mostly at the colder temps it just evaporates instead of true melting. Already some hillsides have no, or very little, snow on them. It’s nice to see.

Zinnia

A reminder that spring can’t be too far away. However, we also have to remember that March is normally a snowy month and can give us 3 feet or more of snow. And as the last 4 winters have shown, the snow doesn’t actually disappear until late April. But the odd time it can be gone by late March, although that doesn’t seem to happen very often. But when March arrives I like to start thinking spring. Well, I guess I start a bit earlier than that, about February 1st,😁 um, well, make that January 1st.🙄 Okay, I’ll admit, I start earlier, about December 1st.😂

Impatiens.

Oh well, winter is one of the joys of living in the north. And many people like winter, though I’m not sure why. But I used to like winter at one time too, though I’m not sure why. But health problems changed all that, now warm weather is the best. Anyway, I’m sort of rambling again this morning, have a wonderful day and God bless!

  2. Hello and good morning to yourself and Muffin. I still love the cold, that may change, I hope it does, as I get so hot.
    The flowers are certainly vibrant and ready for spring.

    • Hi Pene! My sister loves the cold too, and I’m just the opposite. Even when I enjoyed winter, summer was still my favorite season. I hope you have a wonderful week Pene! I guess that blast of cold and snow must be on the way out for you now, that certainly wasn’t fun for you.😀😺☕☕🌞

    • Yes, I agree, summer and heat go together so nicely.🌞😎 It has been a cold day but the sun is shining so nicely that it makes a beautiful day!😃🤸‍♂️🏃‍♂️ Muffin is fine,😸 my mouth almost feels normal now, maybe by tomorrow.🤔 At least I can drink coffee again!😁☕☕☕☕☕☕☕ Have a great Monday Simon!😃 Don’t sleep at work now!😁😂🙄

      • How will I not obey by seniors, I made twice 😳 problem is I happen to go out at night for a shopping then the cough came back, if I tel this to doctor 🤔 not sure whether he will kick me out 😂 I’m repeating the same medication again 🧐 . Let’s see for a day or two. I’m starting today let’s see 😉 I’ll be serious with my health 🥰 Im serious 👍

      • No no, the medicine works in two days, last two times it worked like that after two days I skip it, roam at night then cough again, and the story becomes de ja vu 🙄 so I have taken today, feels slightly good, and hope it stops tmrw and I should continue that medicine until I stop roaming at night😋

      • Right, okay, if you say so! I’ll take your word for it even though you told me before it wasn’t working. Hmm… I’m just giving you a hard time. So today is the big day, times 2!! I hope I got it right this year, last year I marked it wrong on my calendar! Haaaaappppppyyyyy Birthday to, um, to, um, don’t tell me, um, oh right to youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!       • That’s good. Things can move along slowly at times, but with the spring comes new hope and new life.🌲🌳🌱 We need to stay focused and look ahead. Remember the sun always shines,🌞 even during times of clouds and rain (which can also help us grow), the sun is shining still to make sure that everything works out just right.       • Yes indeed Nina! It blesses us with it’s life giving warmth and keeps the clouds and storms from being overwhelming. Spring seems so close now and the weather is so nice, the snow is melting fast, even some birds are returning already which is very early.😃🖐😻🌞🌲🌼🌱🌳 Oh, I’m sending an email.

      • We had a light dusting of snow this morning, all gone now—but not before I got a picture! And I just saw in the garden the Naked Lady bulbs I planted this fall are starting to pop up! Woohoo! Spring is on with chances of snow all week long. Supposed to be a rainy snowy spring season for us here in the PNW. Yes…warm. I’ll check my email.😊🖐😺🌸

      • I’m sure we will likely get more snow before spring comes to stay. Wow, new growth already! Now that’s spring! For us it’s supposed to be a lot of up and down temps this spring. Of course, that’s kind of normal for us.😂😀🖐😸

      • How was your trip? Is it nice and warm? Did you go for a swim? Why not? Did you unpack right away or lie down first? Yeah, I would have too. Was it sunny? Was it raining? Got up to 8F today under beautiful sunshine and cold north wind. Supposed to be -18F tonight with -30 windchill. I’m late for bed, nice talking though, talk tomorrow. Way too much pain today, not my missing tooth, other pain. Now I shall try to sleep. Have a good night!😁😴🌙

  9. I do so love these rambling posts. On one hand you speak of cold and winter temps, then you post pictures of spring flowers. At a glance i think about a garden then I read and get bad weather. Hey Muffin, you better get Steve another cuppa. I think he’s a little sad

  11. I enjoy cold weather more than hot weather, because I have more energy in cooler weather. Perhaps, because there is less humidity. I like spring and fall and can do without summer and winter – sigh. Give Muffin a hug from Callie! ☕️☕️🌺🌷 🌹😺

    • I’m the opposite of most people, hot weather is when I have the most energy and can just keep going and going!🌞🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️
