It’s Coffee Time #110!

Good morning everyone! Coffee is ready, it’s time to relax for a few minutes this morning. There is a big difference out there this morning with the bird population. Most of the juncos have gone now spreading out to their breeding territories. There is only about 30 of them out there this morning and I didn’t see any fox sparrows. A song sparrow was here for a short time yesterday but he didn’t stay around. So far no other sparrows have shown up which is very odd. They will likely move through very quickly when they do show up, but many do stay around here for the summer, like the song sparrows, chipping and white-throated sparrows. Plus several other species.

There is still a large number of evening grosbeaks out there this morning, it’s always so nice to have their bright colors in such great abundance. Right now they are taking a break and sunning themselves in the tops of the trees, chirping in such a lively manner. I’m back again. I had to take a break and go to the store again. I thought that perhaps I would have to stop feeding birds since we are in a strict lockdown right now and there was no way to buy bird seed. And our local stores have not updated their websites to allow ordering things that are normally sold in store. Because bird seed is sold in store then I couldn’t order it. Even the 2 stores I tried didn’t realize that little bit of information.

So, another store I phoned this morning was open by appointment only, so I made an appointment and managed to get the bird seed I need. This should be enough to last until May 20th which is when our current lockdown ends. Unless they extend it again. The evening grosbeaks are still out there eating. Those birds can really eat. There is less of them now, close to 60 birds, and they have been out here eating for 3 and a half hours now. I don’t mind, their bright colors are so nice and that cheerful chirping is just fantastic to enjoy on a sunny spring morning. Today I try to fix things so the bears can’t reach my hanging bird feeders. Hopefully my idea works, we will find out. Have a wonderful spring day everyone and God bless!

    • Yes, there are a couple others having the same problem with following me. WP just said it’s either my fault or yours. One person came to my site and up came a page saying I had deleted my site! I have been to some blogs lately that said that as well. Now I wonder if it was just a glitch or did they delete their site. Thanks for not giving up anyway!!😃😸☕☕🌞

      • Oh, my! I’ve seen that as well – not your site but others where it said their site was deleted. Plus, your site is not the only one having the follow issue. I’ve had several refollow my site a few times and others are having the same issue with other sites. Oh, well! 🤔

    • Thank you so much Pene! We are trying to stay away from them! After having that bear charge at me it has actually made me nervous.😳🐻 So I will be careful from now on.😀😺☕☕🌞

    • Shopping done and I got everything I wanted to get.🤔 Almost.🙄 Forgot one thing.🤪 Sigh. But that’s kind of normal for me. Wow, that would have to be a big wall!!😳 Jasper and the other squirrels are still coming around. I had a nice talk with Jasper again.😁 Yep, I’m off to the outside again! Have a good night Simon!😁🌙😴

  6. Great pics ! So you had a talk with Jasper ! We can buy bird seed or sunflower seeds…got some today…we are “ locked up “ again for four more weeks ! Can only buy necessities…oh, well … be careful ! ☕️☕️🐿🥜🥜😺🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🐻

    • I finally found a place that would sell bird seed so the birds are happy again. I heard that, we are still in our lockdown until May 20th. Have a great day!😀😺☕☕🌞
