Steve And Muffin’s Wildflowers #17.
Hello everyone! Today’s wildflower is the “needle-pointed blue-eyed grass”. The needle-pointed refers to the pointed part at the end of each petal. They are such a beautiful blue with bright yellow center, so they really stand out nicely. It usually has 2 to 4 flowers on the end of a long thin wiry stem, but only one flower will bloom at a time. The flowers are about 3/4 of an inch (18mm) across. They prefer sunny locations and sandy soils that stay fairly moist. But they will grow in other soils as well if well drained. The leaves are very slender and grass like. Their main blooming time in our area is June and early July, but further south they will start blooming in May. Here in Canada they can be found in 3 provinces, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. In the US they are found from ND to Maine and south to Georgia and across to Louisiana. Yes, then they would invest time to resolve the issue. Connection with people is so important, especially now. The blogs touch lives all over the globe. Losing touch due to an unresolved system glitch is not good.

Yeah, not too bad.. warm but not a lot of sun. The next few days is supposed to warm up and the sun starts to shine. Then I’ll take the pontoon out for some sun!

Walmart and Safeway used to stock it, but they both stopped because there wasn’t enough call for it.🙄🤔 Just like gluten free bread which I can’t get anymore and Safeway was the only place that sold it. Sigh.🙄🤯

I was going to head out for a walk, but my landlord asked me to hang around and accept a delivery for her while she and her sister went in for their 2nd vaccine shot. He showed up an hour after they got home. Bang, bang, bang. (Steve banging head on table)😳😳🤕

We get maybe 7 to 10 days each summer where the temp might get into the low 80s. Who needs air conditioning for that? This is the warmest temp we have had in years. There was a time when we would expect 3 weeks each summer of weather like this, temps in the 90s, but that stopped about 30 years ago when our weather began to get colder.

Yep, that it is. Just like, if I drop a 1 lb rock on my foot, it’s going to hurt, but if I drop it on my shadows foot it doesn’t hurt. So strange.🤔
