Hello everyone! Today’s wildflower is the “common wood sorrel”. Though this is a native wildflower it is often considered a weed because it can get into people lawns which is not well liked. It can produce 2 to 7 flowers are the end of a slender stalk about 3 inches (7.5cm) long. The flowers are 3/8 to 1/2 inch (9 to 12mm) across. They will grow in shady to sunny locations and can be found in woods, fields, lawns, really most anywhere. They have heart shaped leaves that look somewhat like a clover leaf that close up at night and on cloudy days. This wildflower is in the oxalis family and another name for it is “common yellow oxalis”. It will bloom from June to October and can be found nearly right across Canada and the US except for a few places in the west of both countries. Well, I hope you have a great day and God bless!

It’s a native wildflower, but people call it a weed because it gets into lawns like dandelions, though not nearly so bad. It likely wouldn’t be found in your area.😀😺🌞📷🌼
