Steve And Muffin’s Wildflowers #34.

Hello everyone and welcome back to our wildflower series this week! Today’s wildflower is the “yellow pond lily”, also sometimes called the “bullhead lily”. They are a common water lily and can be found in ponds, small sheltered bays of lakes and marshy areas. Mostly they grow in sunny locations but can also be found in areas that are partially shaded. In the picture above is one that is blooming and other buds that are coming to the surface. They usually stick out of the water, sometimes up to 12 inches (30cm), on stiff stems and the plants can grow up to 7 feet tall in the water. They like a mucky type soil in the bottom of the pond. This is a native wildflower that blooms from June to August. In the picture below is a leaf from one of these yellow pond lilies and it was about 12 inches (30cm) long by about 8 inches (20cm) wide.

I hope you have a wonderful day and God bless!

Steve and Muffin.

    • Yes I do, but right now I’m mostly trying to photograph what I can and I will be using them more later. But I have shown a couple recently.

      • I know, you know, but you know measuring 🙈 it’s pretty hard, I don’t remember measurement numbers and always mess up during tailoring 🤣. so I easily take the size of my fingers to remember easily 😅 or I have to write down, and don’t forget where I wrote it down 😮😅
