Steve And Muffin’s Wildflowers #38.

Hi everyone on this Tuesday morning! Here we are with one of my favorite summer wildflowers to find, the “Indian Pipe”. This wildflower produces no chlorophyll and is usually found in pure white, but can also be found in pink as in the picture above. Finding the pink around here is a real joy since I have only seen it in 2 different places, but I have found the white ones in many places. They prefer very shady locations, usually under pine trees, in moist rich soil. They quickly turn black in the dry air. They are a native wildflower and blooms from June to September. They grow from 4 to 10 inches (10 to 25cm) tall and the flowers can be from 1/2 to 1 inch (12mm to 25mm) long. They are definitely a fun and unique wildflower to find. They can be found across Canada and most of the US. Have a wonderful day and God bless!

      • Yes, there is much beauty all around here. Even though this is a land with long harsh winters, the summers are filled with incredible beauty that God has made. These flowers truly don’t seem real, even when seen in person. You are so right with that last statement, “God is beautiful and He loves beauty”.πŸ™‚πŸ˜ΊπŸŒΊπŸŒΌπŸ˜»πŸ˜»

      • Yes they are! It would be wonderful to see it up close. I guess it is too dry here, too bad. Oh well, visiting Canada is still on my bucket list. I will look for that flower! πŸ˜€πŸŒžπŸ“·
