Hi everyone! Welcome back to our Art in Nature series! I hope you are all enjoying these different wonders found in nature that are beautiful works of art in their own right. Even our own gardens can produce some interesting objects of art like the picture below of the bud for a poppy.
Most of the time we wouldn’t even pay much attention to the buds of flowers, but really, they can be quite interesting. Walking down to the river earlier this summer I came across some pink mushrooms. I mean, how often do you find mushrooms in a pink color. But here they are in the picture below.
They are puffball mushrooms, and the name of these is specifically “stalked puffball-in-aspic”. The name is as amazing as the pink color! Just don’t know where they come up with some of these names. Usually puffballs are white or light brown, the pink are hard to find, at least around here.

That is very true. I imagine it must be Baldwin they want, or perhaps money from him to stay alive. They don’t want Kat or me, they had plenty of opportunities to kill us. They also could have killed Jennifer and Annelie easily too. It could be Calanthe though, that would be one way to really hurt Baldwin. But nothing really fits. If only we could find out who is behind it all.

It turned out so nice and sunny (was supposed to be cloudy with rain all day) that I thought it would be a great day for fall pics. So I called my friend and off we went. The first stop by the lake and…smoke everywhere, smelled strong, just from the time of leaving home, which was only 5 minutes. Seems there is a new fire which provided the smoke which ruined my picture taking trip. Sigh. Sigh. Sigh. Sigh. Otherwise it was a nice day and I…well, kinda messed up one thing i worked on, but still it was a nice day.😁

Yep, we had lots of rain, but it’s been dry again for a while and with the extra warm weather and all the dry leaves it makes it easy to get fires going.

Yep, I agree. I got my feeders in again at 7:05, not bad, it was still mostly daylight. I go out, look around, all clear, get the first feeder, then as I’m getting the second feeder I hear a snort, loud. There’s the bear in the bushes out back! Grab feeders and run inside! My heart was racing faster than me though!😳🐻😲🐻🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🐻🐻

She’s been sleeping all morning, still sleeping.😻 Except when Scooter came inside again!😾 Muffin spotted him this time,😸 but she was nice and obeyed me when I told her to stay still.😾 And Scooter came when I called and ran out the open door.😄 I praised Muffin a lot for being so nice!😁😻 Then I sat down and fainted.🤪

Excellent photos! A couple of weeks ago, I was walking along a canal towpath. Hidden down below were some giant puff mushrooms. They were white in color, looked like giant marshmallows, and were the size of a soccer ball.

I would like to see those big ones, we don’t have them this far north, wrong soil conditions too. Apparently those big ones are good to eat if picked at the right time.
