Grover’s Grins And Groans. #4

Hi everyone and welcome back to another fun filled Monday morning! Grover is back to share some humor about aging today, so let’s see what he has to say…

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we are kids? If you are less than 10 years old, you are so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

“How old are you?” “I’m four and a half.”

You are never 36 and a half, but you are 4 and a half, going on five.

You get into your teens, now they cannot hold you back. You jump into the next number.

“How old are you?” “I’m going to be 16.”

Then the great day of your life comes, and you become 21.

Even the words sound like a celebration, you become 21…YES!

Then you turn 30. What happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk. He turned: we have to throw him out.

What’s wrong? What changed? You become 21, you turn 30.

Then you are pushing 40…stay over there! You reach fifty.

So…you become 21, you turn 30, you are pushing 40, you reach 50, then you make it to 60.

By then you have built up so much speed that you hit 70!

After that it’s a day by day thing, you hit Wednesday.

You get into your 80s and you hit lunch, you hit 4:30. My grandmother will not even buy green bananas. “Well, it is an investment, you know, and maybe a bad one.”

And it does not end there. Into the nineties you start going backwards. “I was just 92.”

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. “I am 100 and a half.”

And remember, growing old is only mind over matter…if you don’t mind, it does not matter.

Hope you enjoyed Grover’s look at aging. Have a great day and God bless!

    • I count the hours in each day, hour by hour. Life might seem short to some ppl, but it’s the longest thing we ever get to live through. It’s all about perspective πŸ™Œ

To this day I still tell people that I’m 30 and a half. Just so they don’t think I’m older than I actually am, given that I’m in my 31st year.

      • I don’t even bother watching the time, or date, it’s just one day at a time to enjoy the best we can. Getting older is just part of life, can’t stop it so may as well enjoy every part of it!πŸ˜€πŸŒžβ˜•β˜•

      • Well, it is something exciting at her age! Once you get past 40 the thrill of getting older does sort of wear off a bit. But then you hit 41 and age isn’t important anymore. Except maybe the anticipation of being half a century!😁

    • Wow! I would never be able to stay up that late, or would it be early? Anyway, I wasn’t up that early, my 4am posts are all scheduled these days. Until I get into my summer schedule of rising early.πŸ˜‚πŸŒžβ˜•β˜•

  1. Credit to where credit is due, George Carlin is rarely my go-to guy for humor due to his crassness and foul language, but he hit the nail on the head with this one! πŸ˜‰ I just hit 70. It’s always faster going downhill! πŸ˜‚

    • Hmm, never heard of that guy. I found this in a newspaper years ago but there was no name attached to it at all. But then, most of the jokes I use come from somewhere and were first started by someone, whoever that is. And I have found that a lot of them are used and re used quite often so it’s hard to find out who first started it. So I don’t try. I started collecting these things back in the 80s and still pick them up where I can, but only if they are clean, and that is not easy these days. Glad you enjoyed it!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Ή
