The Investigators, Inc. The Accidental Murder Case. Chapter 5. Tuva.

“Mandi and Tuva are certainly taking a long time,” I said, “give Tuva a call Kristina.” She did so but there was no answer. That got me worried. Shortly after the police showed up with Mandi, who had some bruises and scratches. “Tuva is in the hospital,” she said quietly. The police officer said that Mandi was driving too fast and did not make it around a curve in the road. Tuva was apparently hurt seriously. I was on the phone immediately to Baldwin.

I told him that they sent Tuva to a hospital 4 hours away and to get her out quickly as someone had tried to kill her. “I will get her out today,” he said firmly. “It was an accident,” said the police officer. “Are you the one who was on the case here with David’s death?” I asked. “Naturally, there are only two of us in this town,” he said almost angrily. “Then it was no accident with Tuva,” I said, “someone tried to kill her and Mandi and I will find out who it is.” “Do not get involved with police investigations,” he said sternly, “or you will find yourself arrested.”

“I will do what I want,” I said firmly, “Tuva is part of my investigative team, and you cannot stop me from investigating this crime, and the other crimes. Someone killed David, the coroner and the witness to the coroner’s death. I will find out who, and you just might find yourself in jail for filing false reports on these murders.” “I am telling you to stay off these cases,” he said angrily, “or I definitely will arrest you and your friends.” Then he stormed out of the castle and drove away quickly.

I hope Baldwin can get to Tuva before someone else does. “You are going to get in big trouble talking like that,” said Mandi, “he will arrest you.” “Did you crash, or were you forced off the road?” I asked, “and I want a straight answer. One of my team is seriously hurt and might yet get killed if we cannot get to her first.” She looked down. “Yes, someone did force me off the road, right at the same curve as the coroner,” she said nervously, “they tried to kill us! I still do not know how I escaped with only bruises and scratches. Poor Tuva, she looked awful. That car, it came up so fast and hit the side of my car and I lost control.”

She started crying. Something is not right. She seems to be telling the truth, even Muffin thinks so too. Yet she has been lying to us as well, but why? This is not just her family behind all this, it is bigger than that. I call Baldwin back and ask him to send Galyna, Angel, Storm and MC. They are leaving right away and will arrive later tonight. I told Mandi they would be coming, and she seemed quite happy about that and went to get a room ready for them.

Sky went along for protection, but mostly to keep an eye on her. After dinner I asked Mandi why she lied about not knowing where the hidden passageways are located. I also told her I had her fingerprints to prove she had been down in that hidden room with Alonzo. She frowned. “I have never been in any hidden room or passageway,” she said, “honestly, I have not. And I have not seen Alonzo since before David died, he did not even come to the funeral.”

“Alonzo said he comes to town every week on business and stops in to check on you,” said Sigurbjorn. Mandi frowned again. “I have no idea what business that would be,” she said, “Alonzo has not worked for 2 or 3 years now, his wife supports them. He is too lazy, just sits with his laptop all day long, or hangs out with our oldest sister.” Hmm, this is getting more interesting all the time. I contacted Antonio, who works with Rossana, and asked whether or not I could work on these cases since they were all tied to David’s death.

He told me I could go ahead with it since the cases are officially closed, but to be careful. Baldwin got Tuva out, though he had to apply some pressure on the hospital authorities. He also brought along a doctor from his organization to check on Tuva to make sure she could be moved without problems. Now she is in our clinic and that doctor is staying to look after Tuva. At least she is in good hands now, so that is a relief.

Mandi went to bed early after Sigurbjorn gave her a massage and talked to her some more. “I really think she is telling the truth Steve,” said Sigurbjorn, “unless she is extremely good at lying.” Meow, meow.=Me think she tell truth too, but she seem scared. Meanwhile… “What are you trying to do, you idiot,” someone said, “I did not say to kill that PI, just get rid of them. Now, leave them alone Alonzo, or you will be next.”

To Be Continued.

  1. Alonzo??😳😲 He tried to kill his own sister?? How can Mandi’s fingerprints be in the room and her not have been there?? This is getting more strange by the chapter!!πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”

    • It does look like he was involved, that is for sure! Well, her fingerprints were on a glass, perhaps someone took a glass from the kitchen that she had touched and put it in that room. Or she just might be good at lying. Yes, strange things are happening, but why? πŸ€”πŸ‘©πŸ˜ΎπŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

      • Maybe Mandi is being setup to take the blame for David’s death? That coukd explain why the glass was placed there!πŸ€”
But who could it be giving the orders?? Almost sounded like that cop you had words with!πŸ€”

      • That is always possible, and I think very probable. Yes, I will have to make another trip to that room to see if I can find more fingerprints. She would have had to touch more than the glass. Hmm, those cops as the masterminds behind all of this? Possible, but what would they gain? Or are they trying to hide something they are doing? More questions, not enough answers. πŸ€”πŸ‘©πŸ˜ΎπŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

      • Well…. if memory serves me correctly…. (which us always a question mark) there were skinnies in that pit! Perhaps the cops had something to do with them being there?πŸ€”

      • Hmm, now that is something to think about, a place to hide some bodies. They had been there for a while, just bones now. Maybe I will check and see if anyone has gone missing. πŸ€”πŸ‘©πŸ˜ΎπŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

      • Yes, a motive would be nice to have. I can understand a motive for Alonzo, easy money for his lazy lifestyle. But how do the police enter into this? πŸ€”πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

      • He’s just a lackey… someone to use and or blame if things go badly! Maybe David found out about the skinnies and the cops so they had to get rid of him and the coroner… but why use the castle in the first place?πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”

      • Unless the cops had found out about the treasure and have been looking for it. But how would they find out without those documents? If they found the documents it would make sense to take them, not leave them. Very strange indeed. I still don’t know how Muffin and I fell down that hole in the ground. Muffin said she was just sitting looking at that picture. Same thing for me, except I was standing, and suddenly the floor gave way. Someone had to be there and opened it. πŸ€”πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

      • Yes, I agree, that was no coincidence! 🀨😾Especially since Mandi said he never comes around. He is someone I do not trust, and those cops, whatever their part is. πŸ€”πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

      • Hopefully by tomorrow’s chapter Annalie will have some more info on those skinnies and perhaps the cops themselves? Maybe they’re not real coppers?😳😲

      • Hmm, you are thinking more like a PI all the time. Perhaps the real cops for this town are now the skinnies and these others took their place for some reason. Yes, I hope Annelie will have some info for us too. πŸ€”πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

      • Yes, Mandi is still not telling us everything, I think she is just too scared to do so. Perhaps Galyna can get through to her. I am sure Tuva did also, but right now that doesn’t help us. πŸ€”πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

  2. It is always difficult not to know who you can trust or not. Who is lying and why? It is certain that someone wants Mandi dead and a few others. Once someone crosses the line to kill others, they usually continue.Someone is greedy and wants all the money. Those 2 police officers are definitely suspect.

    • Yes, I definitely agree that those officers are likely involved in these killings, but what do they gain by it? They certainly would not get Mandi’s money, but who does? If Alonzo is working with them, then he would likely have to share the money. But Alonzo better be careful too, or he might end up with the 3 skeletons. Would Alonzo kill his own sister? Hmm. πŸ€”πŸ‘©πŸ˜ΎπŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

      • Yes, that is very true. I am also thinking that perhaps these police officers killed the real officers and took their place. Perhaps those skeletons are the real officers remains! πŸ€”πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

      • You have to know their associates. There is big money here and it may not only be the millions that David had. They could be a crime syndicate that is into many illegal activities. They kill whoever gets in their way.

      • Yes, that is a good thought. They may have been using that castle for a long time and did not like when David and Mandi decided to move in. To a crime syndicate, David’s money would not be that important. We need to check into this more thoroughly. Annelie will be kept busy! πŸ€”πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

  3. Alonzo killing his sister ? πŸ€”πŸ˜― I doubt it ! However , it is true that if a lot of money is involved then it may happen πŸ₯Ί ! Too many unknowns yet , so will not agree …yet…🀭 looks like there is much trouble ahead of you ! πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜ΌπŸ‘©β—οΈ

    • There is a lot of money involved, Mandi received everything after David’s death, plus he had a substantial life insurance policy. Mandi is now a millionaire. But who is the beneficiary in her will? We need to find out. Too many people are dying accidental deaths around here, and now that they tried to kill Tuva as well, that makes this a personal fight to try and find the murderer in all these cases. Soon we will find out what is going on and who is really behind it all. πŸ€”πŸ‘©πŸ˜ΌπŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ
