Life’s Recipe.

Welcome to Steve’s Country devotionals!  I am not going to get into long or really deep things here.  I will just be sharing some simple thoughts on things that God has taught me along life’s journey through His word, the Bible.  These devotional thoughts will be short and shared in groups of 3 or 5 each week.  Sometimes might be on a particular theme and sometimes just a mixture of thoughts on different scripture verses.

This idea…

Has been on my mind for some time but wasn’t quite sure how I wanted to present these thoughts.  Then while talking with one of my readers I mentioned finding a recipe card that my Mom had in with all her other recipes.  The title was Life’s Recipe.  From our conversation came the idea to use that for the title of these devotionals.  I’m not sure where my Mom got this ‘recipe’ from or how long she had it.

But first…

Let me share the recipe with you:

1 cup of good thoughts

1 cup of kind deeds

2 cups of consideration for others

3 cups of forgiveness

4 cups of well beaten thoughts

Mix thoroughly, add tears of joy, sorrow and compassion.  Flavor with gifts of love.  Fold in 5 cups of prayer and faith to lighten the other ingredients and raise the texture to greater heights of living.  After pouring all this into your daily life, bake well with the heat of God’s love and serve with a smile.

Simple…

But often we find this hard to do.  But if we would follow what God says in His word it will make it a lot easier.  Next you will find links to the pages where each group of devotionals will be located.  Just click on the link to take you there.  If the link doesn’t work, please let me know and I will get it fixed!  Okay, I will try anyway.  I very much hope and pray that you will be blessed and helped through these simple thoughts.

  1. Wow. This is absolutely beautiful! Your mom was a very wise lady. She raised a kind-hearted and wise son. That’s unfortunately too often a rarity in today’s world.

This is such a wonderful and inspiring idea! I’m thankful you began this. You are touching many many lives. ❤
