Good morning everyone! I finally got back from my weekly shopping. It wasn’t too busy at the store and everyone was so nice and polite. Right. We’ll skip the nice and polite part. I said good morning to one of the employees. His response? Yeah, yeah, in a mumbled and grumbled sort of way. I understand mornings can be hard on some people, but when you work at a store, fake it and say good morning. Another employee was stocking shelves, but I needed something right where he was standing. Excuse me, I said. I’m busy, his response. I need something right where you’re standing. Figures, his response. But he did move away, arms folded, waiting for me to pick up my item and get out of his way. Thank you, I said. Yeah, his response. Is that the favorite word of the day?

Another guy, a shopper this time, kind of a big guy had stopped 3/4 of the way down the aisle, right in the middle of the aisle. He was on his phone texting. Excuse me, said I. He moved about a foot and stopped. I want to get past this guy. Excuse me, I said a little louder this time. He turned around, his eyes got big and he actually ran down the aisle and off to the next aisle. I look around. Just me here. What made him get so scared? Do I have a sign on me that reads, “this guy has Covid”? Very strange reaction. The woman working in the self checkout area was very nice though. She didn’t say anything. She went on break before I was finished and another woman took her place. As I left she said, have a nice day! Thank you, I hope you do as well. Thanks, she said. Some people are happy. As I went out the door I said to the security guy, have a nice day! Yeah, whatever, his response. Amazing.

Male ruby throated hummingbird.

For the featured image today we have another bald eagle, looking down at me from his perch. He’s probably thinking, “My brother Herb told me about that guy, goes around taking pics of us birds, invading our privacy, I’ll keep my eye on him.” Then in the pic above is another look at our little ruby throated hummingbird, a male. Our tiniest bird up to one of our biggest birds today. I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!

  2. Steve, God bless and keep you today. Those folks in the store need some sunshine and sweetness in their lives. Light always conquers darkness! What is in their hearts, comes out of their mouths. May every rude comment made to you, come back as an overflowing blessing to you today! Thankfully we can be a thermostat and not a thermometer reflecting their negativity. Honey makes the day so much sweeter. Your politeness sowed light!

    Enjoy seeing your photos and they leave me smiling. Have a phenomenal rest of the day and the week.

    • Yes, so true, I just let the negative comments go flying past and continue to be nice and polite no matter what. Keeps me with a cheerful heart and hopefully sends out sunshine through what I say. Just like my blog subtitle, “for a smile as wide as a country sunrise”.

  4. Oh I thought only here people are like this 🤪 it seems is very difficult to be polite 🤦🏼‍♀️ especially for those working in customer service 🤪

    • Oh well, if they want to be negative I won’t let it spoil my day.🌞 Maybe it’s the cold weather.🤔 It was terribly cold today and snowing again, about 5cm so far and still snowing.😳🌨🌨

  5. I think you mean, Good afternoon (not good morning)! 😂 I did enjoy an afternoon coffee. It was a Starbucks vanilla drink you get from the grocery stores and it was lovely.

    • I was late for sure, but it was still morning when published, even if not by much.😀🙄 It would have been earlier, but I got sidetracked for awhile. Typical.🙄 Hmm, I think I’ll stay with regular coffee.😁☕☕

      • Thanks Steve! So far so good. Just tired from work. You ever hit that spot were you are too tired to actually sleep…yeah that’s me this week. I’ll sleep good this weekend though!

      • Yes, I have been there, too tired to sleep. Hard to believe it can happen, but it does! Hope you get to relax this weekend and catch up a bit on your sleep. Hey, we get an extra hour of sleep this weekend! Do you change time down there?

        We still do the time change but we, here in Louisiana, are trying to legislate it out. It’s so stupid to continue doing this. Farmers no longer need an extra hour of light to see. Tractors have headlights 😊

      • We have legislation going on right now that would put us at permanent daylight savings time year round, better for us than standard time due to the fact our days and nights change so drastically between summer and winter. That would start a year from now.

    • Glad you enjoyed this Simon! Need a bit of comedy now and then. Bald eagles are not bald, but seen from a distance people thought that white head was bald and the name stayed even after they found out. Theodore the turkey is bald, so are turkey vultures. I don’t think we have any other truly bald headed birds though.🤔 Have a great evening!😁 Don’t forget to eat some chocolate.😛🍫😋

      • Actually it’s the total hours I spend on bed, I’ll stay awake in the middle for few hours but then I’ll sleep anyway which makes this 8 hours 😁 honestly not 8 🙄 I highly doubt I sleep for 6 hours these days 🤔 anyway hoping for a better day 😊 Month end 😉
