Daily Pics #312.

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all well today. Still cloudy here but the weather is very nice really, especially considering this is winter. It was fairly mild yesterday, but the wind made it feel a bit chilly. Jasper came around in the afternoon so I went outside to sit with him for a bit. I gave him a peanut and he sat down to eat it. “How’s things going?” Chip. “Oh, yes, I saw the blue jays were giving you a hard time. How are you enjoying your first winter?” He looks at me again. Chip! It was a bit louder this time. “Oh, I see, the snow is cold on your feet. But there’s fun coming up, you’ll get to dig tunnels in the snow.” Chip. “Yes, squirrels dig tunnels, it’s fun, you can run around under the snow and no one can see you. Good for hiding peanuts too, the blue jays can’t see where you hide them.”

Chip. “Yes, you mentioned that the snow is cold on your feet. But you will enjoy those tunnels, honest.” Chip. “Right, here’s a big peanut.” He ran away with that one. And he never came back. But it was late afternoon, the sun was setting, guess he went home with that last peanut. I wonder where he lives? I hope you don’t mind my little conversation with Jasper. It’s fun sometimes. Don’t worry, I won’t do it often, too cold this time of year for one thing! Not many birds around this morning. All the chickadees were here and a few redpolls. One hairy woodpecker. One male pine grosbeak was here for a few minutes until the rock doves chased him away. There is only 2 blue jays this morning, Baxter and Betty. What happened to all the others? This is winter. Birds don’t leave their feeding site unless there is danger involved, but I can’t imagine the blue jays being scared of the rock doves. There is more than 20 of those rock doves this morning however. This could be a bad winter.

For our continuing look at male and female birds this morning we have 2 from the summer. The featured image at the top is a female goldfinch and the pic above is the male. They are nice, bright birds to have around. I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!

    • Hi Simon! Glad you liked my conversation with Jasper, it can be fun to make up these conversations with my little friends. Amazingly I’m not falling these days. Doing my workouts each day. Haven’t been sleeping well though, I can’t get comfortable in bed the last few nights. I sleep about 4 hours and that’s it, I have to get up. I need to change things again I guess.πŸ€”πŸ˜Έ
Thanks Simon, Have a wonderful evening/night!πŸ˜πŸŒ™πŸ˜΄πŸ˜΄πŸ˜Ί

You can take days off if necessary perhaps from time to time …

      • Have you ever thought of investing after opening a bank account in an online American bank insured by the US federal government up to 250 thousand dollars?

      • The problem is I’m not able to lie down after about 4 hours, too much pain, so I have to make some changes. I think I might need new pillows.πŸ€” I used to buy new pillows every yearπŸ™€ and that helped a lot, but these are now 3 years old,πŸ€ͺ so time to change. I use them to keep me from moving around at night. But I need a new mattress topper as well. My mattress is very firm,πŸ˜³πŸ› so the topper makes it just a bit softer which helps my back.πŸ˜€ Sorry, shouldn’t be boring you like this. Have a good night Simon! πŸ˜πŸ˜ΊπŸŒ™πŸ˜΄

      • ha ha not boring Steve,πŸ€— It’s totally fine, see, now you know why you can’t sleep, work on it, and manage your back pain, use pain killer sprays or creams to manage it. and replace the pillows soonπŸ‘ Have a sweet Night πŸ€—βœ¨πŸ’

    • 4 hours just isn’t enough. I used to survive with only 5 or 6 hours, but since getting Covid I need 8 hours. Terrible to spend so much time sleeping! Hasn’t started snowing here yet but we are supposed to get a bit tonight.πŸ˜€πŸ˜ΊπŸŒ™πŸŒ¨πŸŒ¨β„β„
