The Investigators, Inc. Case of the Missing Granddaughter. Chapter 9.

They arrived at the bench where Aari and Freda were waiting. “What is wrong with Steve?” asked Aari. “He had a bad reaction to my drug I use to get information from people,” said Banker, “but he will be okay after a while.” “What drug?” asked Kat. “Oh, just something I cooked up myself,” he said nervously, “works better than anything else.”

“What drug?” asked Kat again putting her gun to his head. “Uh, here, in my pocket,” he said, even more nervous now. She reached into his jacket and pulled out a small vial. “Thank you,” she said, “oh, if he dies, you will too, I promise.” Then Aari took Butcher aside a bit and handed him a note. “You will want to read this info,” he said to Butcher, “your whole organization is in trouble, and not by us.”

Butcher then left with Freda and his men. Aari, Aubrey and Tiffany took me back home right away. The others were going to stay behind and see what happens next. They also sent Karalyn, the other 3 girls and Margaret back to our home as well, in order to keep them safe for a while. Meanwhile, back with Butcher. “What is in the note?” asked Freda.

“Says they got Karalyn back from Scorpion,” he said, “and they destroyed his clubhouse.” “Yeah, I heard that too,” she said, “I could hear them talking in the other room. Taking on Scorpion was stupid though, he will not forget that.” “Yeah, that is for sure,” said Lucky, “you do not want to get him angry.” There was something else in the note which Butcher did not mention however.

“Just drop me off at home Lucky,” she said, “I need to relax after that.” “I can understand that Freda,” said Butcher, “take a couple days off, Reggie too.” “Thanks Butcher,” she said, “we will do that.” After dropping her off Butcher told Lucky to get back to the office fast. He did so and they went inside. “Here,” said Butcher, “tune into this for a while.”

Lucky checked it out and a familiar voice came through. “We need to leave now Freda,” said Reggie, “I do not like Scorpion getting involved, that is too hot for me. He will kill Butcher and everyone connected to him.” “Yeah, I agree,” said Freda, “how much of Butcher’s money do we have now?” “About 75% of it,” said Reggie, “if I try to take any more, Banker will find out what is going on. So far he has not noticed anything.”

“Hmm, and in Jamaica we can live like a queen and king,” said Freda, “without worrying about my stupid brother finding us. It has not been easy putting up with that idiot, pretending to be his good little sister. Now Scorpion can have him.” She laughed at the thought. Butcher was ready to explode, but he managed to cool down and think things through.

“Scorpion is coming for us,” he said, “but we will be ready for him by setting a trap, with Freda and Reggie as the bait. Get word to Al that I will be with Freda at her flat tonight. Scorpion will stop in there for information.” All was set, Scorpion did stop to talk with Al, the best place for information, and then they went to Freda’s flat.

“Open that door Fingers,” said Scorpion, and he had the main door open in no time. Then up to the right flat they went and smashed in the door. The shocked look on the faces of Freda and Reggie as Scorpion entered the room made him smile. Soon there were two shots and Scorpion left with his men.

When they came out Butcher and his men started shooting, but most of Scorpion’s men were outside, and behind, Butcher. Rock and the team watched but they did not want Scorpion to win too much, so they began to shoot as well, killing off many of Scorpion’s men.

Then they called the police to come in and clean up. They were waiting just down the street and came in quite suddenly with sirens and lights flashing. Oddly though, both Scorpion and Butcher got away. Rock knew where to look though and they were soon pulling up to Al’s nightclub, which was now closed.

They surrounded the place so no one could get away this time and Catalina put a nice little explosive gift on the front doors. Just enough to blast those doors right off their hinges. Then Rock and the team went inside…
