For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone! I have been sitting here by my window, eating breakfast and once again watching the morning awaken. The sky is mostly clear although there are some clouds to the west. It is supposed to be a sunny day however, we shall see if it is or not. Two ravens are flying by, the first has some food, the second one is chasing after it trying to make the first one ‘share’.
I have not seen any other birds this morning. There is a lot of large truck traffic on the street this morning, more than normal. This is a non smoking apartment building, with designated smoking areas. No smoking is allowed in the apartments, not even on the balconies. That makes sense. This is something that was stressed to me before I signed my lease.

Looking towards the little park and curling rink.
There are a lot of smokers in this building, and on my floor. They smoke in their apartments. They also smoke weed in their apartments. The hallway is sometimes quite ‘foggy’ with smoke. These people agreed to the non smoking rule before they moved in, now they ignore it. It might be just me thinking this way, but that seems wrong. Sigh. Then there is the man across the hall from me.

Looking more to the right in this pic.
But I will leave that for another time. I am not really complaining by the way, but I do feel that when people agree to something, then they should do it. Oh well. I still like this place though. It is bigger than my last place. And once I get everything settled it will be nice. I cannot do things as fast as I would like anymore, but it is getting done.
I will need help with some things, like putting up a drapery rod so I can put up my drapes. Being this high I guess I would not really need them, but it gives a room a finished look. It makes it look, what I call, ‘cozy’. Especially in the winter. The very wide window sills are great places to put my plants too. Muffin says that is okay, but I need to leave room for her to lie in the sun too.

Another view.
She is curled up beside me at the moment. Hmm, those clouds seem to have filled the sky almost completely now. So much for a sunny day. Oh well, Muffin and I will have our own ‘sunshine’ indoors anyway. Time for more coffee and back to ‘work’ in here. I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.

Moving is always hard, especially from a place you enjoy so much by the lake, but the view is nice in your “cozier” neighborhood. Maybe there is a park nearby that you can meet some new furry friends? I assume your flat has a lift!?
Very sad about the disregard for agreements to standards, but it is likely to get worse as The Day approaches. Maybe Father has put you in a “mission field” so you can testify to the Truth. Remember, HE loves even our enemies; same for our associates and friends.
You will be in my prayers that you will find His reasons for moving you to this location.

Unfortunately there is no park close (within walking distance), except this little park across the street, but it’s just for sports.
But once I get my place settled I will start to walk around the neighborhood.
Thanks c.a. I appreciate it!😊😺☕☕

My neighbor is a smoker. I want to say chain smoker because she’s outside once an hour. The smoke travels and makes our house stink if we leave the windows open. Sometimes the smoke travels through the vents which stinks up some of our rooms. It’s pretty gross.
But then she has the audacity to complain about us, especially our 6 year old being rude or too loud or whatever the complaint of the day is. I want to say “touché, lady” because I didn’t ask for smoke smell but instead I bite my tongue and don’t say anything. At my last place the people living below us were smokers too.

Sounds just like my neighbor, every hour she is on her balcony smoking and that smell comes directly into my place. Today was a real bad day, the smoke was thick in the hallway again and at least one person was smoking weed, it was strong as I passed his door. I guess it is just part of the joys of apartment living. This is my first time in an actual apartment building so I have a few adjustments to make.🙄🙀

Steve, your view is interesting, thanks for sharing. You may know that I am one who prays for many. I had a friend who had an apartment above a weed smoker, who smoked constantly and the smoke was in their apartment. Always pray over a new place and dedicate it to the Lord Jesus. Tell anything not of him to leave. Then seal the various ways the smoke comes into your apartment with the blood of Jesus. This person did this and had no more smoke in the apartment from the neighbor. It really works!

Yes, that is something I always do when moving into a new place, one never knows what has been going on in an apartment/house. Witches are many in this little town and so are other occult practices. It truly does make a difference to pray and dedicate a new place to the Lord Jesus. Perhaps I will need to get more specific on the smoking matter. Thanks so much!😊😺

You are welcome! The apartment is your space and the enemy and smoke has no right to invade your space!

Smoking weed in an apartment is not allowed in our state while smoking cigarettes is okay. One of the tenants that lives downstairs from us dumps his nasty cigarette butts on the premises before he enters his apartment. Some people can be so inconsiderate.
I hope things work out for you and Muffin and you will be happy in your new place. 😼☕️☕️

I am sure it will be a nice place to live once we get settled in. But there are always things that are not nice it seems.
Yes, some people are very inconsiderate. Too bad really, it can spoil things for others.
But we are enjoying the new place!😊😺☕☕

Yes, that is true. I have lived in a lot of different places and they all have good points and bad points. But I do like this place for sure. Even Muffin has really settled down a lot the last couple of days.😊😺
