For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Well, it has been 4 months now and still nothing new with my memory since those early recollections. Now Annelie called for a meeting of Nelson, Rock, Kat, Sky and myself. Apparently it must be quite important, she seemed to be very worried about something. Once in the library Nelson closed the doors for privacy and to make sure no outside sources could listen in. All the cats were with us as well.
“I just got a tip from one of my main informants that Morgan has broken out of prison and disappeared,” she said, “so I checked and sure enough, it was true but the police did not want the information known just yet. It could have to do with a man named ‘Craig’ who is a big dealer in all sorts of drugs and one of the main suppliers in the US and Australia.
He now wants to break into the European market. That might be why he wanted Morgan, he knows the business very well.” “And Morgan wanted to kill Steve, Sky and myself,” said Kat, “that could pose real danger for Steve especially.” “Yes,” said Nelson, “we will increase protection for Steve and Sky. And also for you Kat.” “I am not important,” she said, “better to just concentrate on Steve and Sky. I will just disappear back into my grave.”
“Kat! No talking like that!” exclaimed Sky, “You are just as important as Steve and I, and right now Steve needs you a lot more than you realize. You were an important part of his past and you could be a big help in bringing back his memory.” “Sky is right,” said Rock, “we need you and we all need to stay together right now to help each other.”
The talking went on back and forth with different ideas being put forth. Then Nelson put up his hand and everyone went quiet. He looked at me. “Are you okay Steve?” he asked. I looked over at him and frowned a bit. “Is that my name?” I asked, then I looked around the room, “I, I do not know any of you.” The cats ears went straight up.
Meow, meow?=You not remember me? I looked at her and frowned again. “Which one of you did that?” I asked. Meow, meow.=No one talk for me, I talk for me. All us cats can talk, we been together for years, you my human, I always talk to you. She looked at me with such sad eyes. “There must be something wrong with my memory,” I said, with tears in my eyes, “that I could forget my own precious cat, and, and, the fact you can talk to me too.”
No one said anything, especially nothing about Sky being my wife. Everyone knew that might be too much for me at the moment. “I need to lie down,” I said, “I have a terrible headache.” Sky lead me to our bedroom and called for Sigurbjorn to come and give me a massage. Sky stayed with me too, and so did Muffin and Snow.
Meanwhile Nelson called Li Jing to tell her of the new development with me. She was very concerned about that and called the original doctor that had developed my ‘nowhere’ medicine. They talked for a while and then she called Nelson back right away and gave him some exciting news. Nelson called for a meeting of the whole team and explained to everyone what has happened and the news from Li Jing.
It appears the original doctor has been working on some new medication that should heal me once and for all from this ‘nowhere’ disease. The doctor would be flying in tomorrow so Rock and others from the team will meet him and escort him to our clinic for safety. They took me there today and made sure the clinic was well guarded inside and out.
I went into a coma that evening and overnight Li Jing had to put me on life support to hopefully keep me alive until the doctor arrived in the morning. Sky and Kat stayed with me, so did Muffin, lying on top of me and purring. Snow came too so she could take turns with Muffin and purr for me. Storm, Rusty and Tiia were part of the inside guard detail.
Meanwhile, stepping back in time a bit and returning to that prison. “Yeah boss?” said Fingers. “You knew Toledo better than any of us, so tell me, did he ever mention killing a woman named Kat, wife of Steve from a group called The Investigators?” “Yeah,” he said half chuckling, “he talked about that one a lot. He wanted to really hurt that Steve guy so he figured the best way was to kill his wife Kat.
He said it was a neat job and he killed her himself. Then he attended the funeral to make sure she got buried. Then he watched that grave day and night with his men and after 3 days they dug up her body. She was there, dead and cold. But get this, she shows up a while back, claiming to be a ghost, no one can kill her and she kills Toledo. But she came back as a woman named Kate Saunders.”
To Be Continued.

The Boss and Fingers are very good at getting crucial information on Kat and Kate Saunders. Hope they cannot sabotage the doctor with the cure for the Nowhere disease. It is time for a break for Steve and for him to be brought back out of a coma and off life support.

Yes, it will be interesting to see what they might find out about Kate Saunders. We could not find much ourselves but perhaps they can do better. We shall find out. Fortunately they should know nothing about the doctor coming and once that plane lands he will be well guarded by our team. Hopefully that cure will actually work so this Nowhere disease will not be a problem anymore. But now we have a new enemy to worry about and one that is well informed which makes him more dangerous.π€π©π©πΌπΌπΌπΌπΌπ΅οΈββοΈ

Yes, somehow he has good sources for crucial information. It is time for a solution to the Nowhere disease so it doesn’t constantly threaten your life. Trust that the doctor will be able to make it to the clinic safely. This new enemy has ties to Toledo and maybe someone else! He is dangerous but he has met his match with The Investigators!

I hope this new cure will actually work. You’re right, it is time to get rid of this Nowhere disease for good. It has been a problem for too long now and it interferes with our cases.
Yes, this new enemy could be a real threat to us right now but hopefully we can stop him before he stops us. Having good sources for information can be a problem for us, we know how well they work.π€π΅οΈββοΈ

One thing on the side of The Investigators, is that your sources aren’t stool pigeons in prison, singing to the highest bidder. Some of the information they have could be tainted.

Hmm, I have never asked Annelie where her sources are, or who they are. But then, maybe I don’t want to know, it can be better that way sometimes!π€π΅οΈββοΈ
