The Investigators, Inc. The Mysterious Hidden Cabin. Chapter 23. The Trap.

The man continued his dialogue. ”I also know that many of them are injured right now and in the hospital, plus those who found your gems are tired and sick, making them rather useless for fighting.” ”Hmm, I see your point,” she said, sipping her tea, “tonight would be the perfect time to attack those idiots.” ”Plus, they do have some lovely young ladies that you could perhaps use in your “art studio”, he added. 

“That is true too,” she admitted, “and one young woman in particular. She is the most beautiful of them all, and I will get her finally. Major would not sell her to me before, but now I can just take her, free!” She laughed at the thought of getting her hands on Macie at last (Macie’s name is now Aasta). ”And what do you want?” she asked, “No one gives information away for nothing.” 

“There are two women, one named Dawn, another named Kat,” he said, “I want them for my, shall we say, ‘collection’.” Lauren laughed again knowing what this man was talking about. The man provided her photos of Dawn and Kat and their agreement was made. The man left and Lauren called her men together to get ready for their attack. Plans were carefully made, Lauren does not like mistakes. 

She also made some extra plans that only she and 3 others knew about. She made sure that her two best dogs were with her that night as well. ”This should be easy,” said Michael, “especially with that main guy out of the way too, plus several of the others. I just hope their safe is easy to open, otherwise it will slow us down too much. I do not like the idea of staying in one spot for too long.” 

She left 2 men behind to look after things, mainly the 3 women she has been using lately, plus her remaining money she kept in her safe in the office. She did take some with her however, but only a couple hundred thousand US dollars. She left behind another $400,000. After she and her men left to come over to our place, then Rock and his team moved in to destroy Lauren’s studio. 

They first had to make sure that no one was inside. Mac opened the back door easily and they all went inside. The two men that Lauren left behind were in a room watching TV and did not hear them enter the building, that is, until Rock burst through the door and into their room. They grabbed their guns but were shot before they could use them. 

Rock then went around smashing open all locked doors, then Catalina, Cinnamon, Tracy and Amber checked to see if any women were in the rooms. They did find 3 women which they took out with them. Catalina returned and began setting explosives around the studio. Rock found Lauren’s small safe in her office and he carried it out to the van. They also brought out the two dead guards. Then Catalina set off the explosives and soon the whole building was engulfed in flames. 

They had already called the police and fire department. They told the police of the bodies at the back of the building. Then they took the 3 women and brought them back home with them. Meanwhile, during the time that this was happening, Lauren and her men had entered our driveway and they noticed that no one was around, just like that large man had told her. They went up to the front door and found it unlocked, so they all came rushing inside. 

The first room is the library, on the right side of the hallway. They went inside, the light was dull, but they could see 4 women over to one side. It was Annelie, Kat, Dawn and Aasta. When Lauren entered the library and saw Macie (Aasta), she smiled with delight. ”I have you at last!” she exclaimed, “Now come to me! From now on, you belong to me!” ”I belong to no one!” stated Aasta emphatically. 

Then Lauren noticed someone else in the dimly lit room, but on the opposite side. It was the large man she had talked with earlier. ”How did you get in here?” asked Lauren, rather surprised. ”The door was open,” he replied, “so I came in to check on things and found these lovely young ladies just sitting there as if waiting for me. Oh, your gems are in that box over there dear woman.” 

“How much for that beauty that you call your helper?” asked Lauren. ”I am sorry to inform you dear woman,” he began, “but I have already sold her to someone else. A shame really I suppose, it might be hard to replace her, she always knew what I needed.” 

“I can pay more than anyone,” said Lauren, “name your price.” Just then several cats jumped onto Baldwin’s desk, growling. Lauren, as you may remember, hates cats, and she had her two killer dogs with her. ”Cats, kill!” was all she said and those dogs went into action…
