For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi again everyone! Oh my, things just keep happening it seems. My blog was gone most of last week which really messed up my schedule for doing things and writing posts. Then Monday, just after posting Muffin’s Fun post I lost my internet connection. It turned out to be a major outage with one of the internet providers here, the one I am with naturally.
So that took care of the entire afternoon, just as I was going to do my summer ramblings post. Sigh. It is hard to get back to things after all that. But hopefully my schedule will be back and better than before too. We had some nice weather last week, some called it too hot, but I think the warmest day was about 86F (30C), which really isn’t bad for summer. For me it was just starting to get on the hot side.

Geraniums on my balcony.
Everyone here was telling me to get an air conditioner or I would never survive the heat in my apartment. Well, so far the hottest it has been inside is about 83F (28.5C). My last apartment the temp would get up to 95 to 105F (35 to 40C), so I do not find it hot here. Plus, the balcony is very nice, being in the shade which makes it a bit cooler. Muffin likes going out there and sleeping on the cool cement floor. I tried to give her a bed to sleep on, but she rejected that idea and preferred the cement.
Speaking of my balcony, the flowers are doing nicely out there, blooming quite beautifully. Muffin will sit among the flowers so she can watch all the fun below. Well, there isn’t much fun down there, just lots of traffic. I never figured this street would be so busy. It is even worse now that summer is here and all the cottagers and tourists are in town. However, they will be gone soon. Hard to believe that the end of summer is basically only about 3 weeks away.

More geraniums.
Our biggest weekend of the summer is coming up in 10 days, then there is a fishing tournament in mid August and after that most of our summer residents head back home. It is a rather short summer, but it is beautiful here this time of year. And with all the rain we have had, everything is so lush and green. The sun is shining this morning and it looks just beautiful out there.
It is supposed to be mostly sunny today and a bit warmer than yesterday, which will be nice. It has been a bit chilly the last couple of days with temps in the low 70sF (low 20sC). It is actually cool feeling sitting here this morning beside the open living room window.

These geraniums came out in 2017 for Canada’s 150th birthday.
That is one thing that has helped keep my apartment cooler, the fact that our nights have stayed on the cool side of around 59 to 63F (15 to 17C). Usually our night temperatures are warmer than that during the summer months. Oh well, minor details, but interesting sometimes. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday and God bless!
