For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Well, the three of us were sitting on the mattress provided by Granger trying to do some thinking. I was wondering why Granger was so anxious to get his friends out of prison, and why he waited so long to tell us what he wanted us to do. “Perhaps they were not in prison yet,” said Angel, “or they were being transferred from one prison to another and he had to wait until he found out where they would be.” “Hmm, that is a good thought,” I said, “now, why does he want them? It is possible they are specialized in some area and he is planning something big, needing their help.”
“That would make sense,” said Sky, “anything major happening soon?” I communicated with Jennifer to call Penny and see if anything is happening soon that Granger might be interested in. Then it hit me, I was able to communicate with Jennifer again. “The last time I tried to communicate with Jennifer,” I began, “the camera system was still working. Maybe it was interfering somehow.”
“But this way of communicating is supposed to work under all conditions,” said Angel.” “But did Kat check it against a heavy electrical charge?” I asked, “That is something we need to look into back home. If a heavy enough electrical charge can interfere, then she will need to adjust for that.” “Yes, that is a good thought,” said Angel, “hey, we might be getting through to Granger after all. He is disturbed by what Matt and the Knight Riders are doing, he wants a man named Brian to check on things because he thinks there is a leak in his organization.”
“There might be, that’s how we found out about the drugs,” I said. “He is also calling another hit man, named Dimitri,” said Angel, “but he hasn’t said why.” I contacted Mac and asked him if he knew this Dimitri. “Yep, another one of the top hit men in this part of the world,” said Mac, “he doesn’t work cheap, so it must be important. Want me back there?” “No, I would like you and Aari back at the chateau,” I said, “look after things around there for now, but stay hidden.”
“He might be coming your way,” said Mac, “your sisters are still good targets.” “Thanks for reminding me,” I said. I sat thinking for a while. “Your hearing is amazing Angel,” I said. “Thanks,” she said, smiling. “That door to the restaurant is likely surrounded by an electrical charge of some kind,” I said, “that is probably why you can’t open the lock on that door Sky. You don’t want the lock, you need to get rid of that electrical charge first, then the door should open. The lock might even be fake.”
“That’s kind of sneaky,” said Sky, “would you like me to check it out now?” “No, it might be better to stay here for a while longer,” I said, “maybe we can find out more about Granger and his plans. But you two need to check his office tonight and see what you can find. This is not his main office, obviously, but likely one of many secondary offices where he can hide out at times.”
“Hmm, that could mean that someone is after him right now,” said Sky, “maybe those ‘friends’ in prison are not his friends, but friends of someone else and they are pressuring Granger.” “Well, that’s an interesting thought,” I said, “but Granger has a big organization, with lots of money and lots of men, I can’t see anyone pushing him around.” “Oh well, it was a good theory while it lasted,” said Sky sighing. “They still might be someone else’s friends though,” I said.
I asked Jennifer to ask Penny to check on those 3 men we are breaking out of prison, for example, what there specialties are in criminal tasks. But since we did not know much about these men, except first names, finding information about them might be hard. Soon Sky and Angel were in Granger’s office looking around. Conrad slept in there but Angel put him into a deeper sleep with one of those special rings that Carolyn invented for us.
Luckily Conrad had backed up everything on their computer to an external drive so Sky took that and replaced it with another empty drive so it would not be noticed right away that it was missing. Angel found the last names of the men in prison, so that will help us find out more about them. She also found a map of the corridors and rooms under the castle, and one of those corridors does lead to a building behind the fences. Just then 3 men showed up at my cell.
“Hey, where’s that lady that is supposed to be with you?” said one of them. “I don’t know, maybe she went for a walk,” I said. “Oh, a wise guy,” said another, “maybe I should come in there and turn you inside out.” “You better be quiet, or you will wake up the castle ghost again,” I said, “Sky, where are you?” “You think your girlfriend will hear that?” asked the first man. Then he screamed and fell to the floor, dead. The other two turned around and saw Sky frowning at them.
“You men are noisy,” she said, “I am trying to sleep and you come around yelling, that is not nice.” Then one of them felt someone touch his shoulder. He turned and saw Sky again. “There is two of them,” he said. “There is only one of me,” said both Sky’s together, “you upset me so I made a copy of myself. It always happens when I’m upset. Then, “Thwock!, Thwock!”, and both men fell dead. “Good going cats,” I said. The “ghosts” came back inside…

Now the team is becoming proactive. You found out the full names of the men to be rescued and will soon know more about them. More of Granger’s men die and progress is made. It is good you are on the offensive rather than reacting to the attacks. Time to have Granger dance to your tune!

Yes, we needed to get ahead of things a bit, hopefully it will help us. Unfortunately, we don’t know much about Granger and how he does things and that is always a problem. We probably could have gotten me out of there sooner, but then Granger would have slipped away on us and we wanted to trap him.🤔👩😾🕵️♂️

Yes, you could have gotten out sooner. Trapping Granger should not have been the priority but seeing that Steve was rescued and safe.

Sometimes we have to take chances to capture our enemies. Though sometimes it doesn’t work so good. This is one of those times. Yes, we should have rescued me first, then tried to get Granger.

Yep, things don’t always work out well despite our plans.
