The Investigators, Inc. The Museum Case. Chapter 10. Jazzy Calls.

Jennifer had told me that the ghosts needed heat, a lot of it, in order to keep them longer so that hopefully she could give strength to all of them. The hotel had electric blankets which we brought into the room and wrapped around each of the ghosts with two volunteers to lie beside them as well, which would add more heat. Though they would have to be prepared to get very hot wrapped up under the blankets.

However, the girls could take turns, changing when it became to unbearable for them. Dawn and I got under the blanket with Sky, she was the most likely one to revive first, if any revived at all. If she did, then she would be able to help with the other two. Jennifer and Carine tried hard to share their strength with Kat and Angel, though it did not seem to be working.

Meanwhile, back in some prison. “Well, have you discovered who is trying to kill Steve?” asked Jazzy. “Yep, it’s Lauren, the friendly dog lady,” said Jaan. “That interfering witch,” said Jazzy, “contact Steve and let him know who it is. No one is going to kill Steve, except me. And I definitely won’t let Lauren do it. Do you know exactly where she is right now?”

“Yep, got the address where she is staying in London right now,” he said, “she knows he has moved their home base to somewhere not far from London.” “Have you heard from Misty yet?” she asked. “No, not a word,” he said. “That’s not good,” she said, “it could mean that Karl won the fight. No one will be safe if he did. I need to make a phone call, get it ready for me.” “Shall do Jazzy,” he said.

He then left the visiting area and she was taken back to her cell. But it wasn’t long and she was brought out to a room that had a phone and the guards left her alone. “Hello, this is Cristy,” she said, “my sister is unable to talk right now.” “This is Jazzy,” she said, “do you know how things went?” “Karl is destroyed,” said Cristy, “but we suffered heavily.”

“Hey, no crying girl,” said Jazzy, “you and your sister need to be strong for Steve right now, he will need your help getting things back in order again.” “There is nothing,” she said, “the Investigators has been terminated. This really knocked Steve down, especially after what happened before.” Jazzy didn’t really know much about what had happened to us, so Cristy filled her in.

Jazzy was silent for a moment. “Can you hook me up with Steve right now?” asked Jazzy, “I don’t have much time.” Cristy did so immediately. “Hi Jazzy,” I said, “I must say, this is a real surprise. Also, thank you so much for your help, we would not have succeeded otherwise and the losses would be even greater.” I then choked up.

“Steve, Cristy told me what happened to your team before this,” said Jazzy, “I had no idea it was so bad, losing over 30 of your team members had to be devastating to all of you. And now this, which probably affects you and Jennifer most of all.” She stopped at this point and I could tell she was crying, something I did not expect.

“But Steve, don’t quit now,” she continued, “this ol’ world needs people like you and your team. You have helped so many people, so many women and children that were trapped in porn, and men too. You need to stand strong for your team members right now. Do that and they will stand strong with you and hold you up during this trial of yours.”

She stopped again due to being choked up, like me. “Slow down, take it easy for a while if you need to,” she continued, “but don’t quit altogether. Also, the person that is trying to kill you right now is Lauren. But don’t worry about her, my people will take care of her for you, she won’t hurt you again, I promise. I don’t have much time left on my call, but when you are able, come and visit me, I would love to talk with you. Please.”

“I will definitely come and visit,” I said, “just as soon as I can. And, I won’t quit, neither will the Investigators. Thank you Jazzy.” She then hung up. Cristy then told me she was sending us that one laser weapon that we had captured, something from Jazzy’s arsenal, along with directions on how to use it a little differently.

Jazzy had told her it can be used as a power generator, something she thought might be helpful to strengthen our ghosts right now. Providing it gets here in time, and time is something that is fast running out for our ghosts. “Jazzy is changing,” said a tiny, weak voice. I looked and Sky had her eyes partly open and she gave me a weak smile.

Then she said, “hand”, and I knew she wanted me to hold her hand, which I did right away. “Did you want me to take your place now Steve?” asked Amerie. “No, not yet, Sky is going to be okay,” I said. Amerie gave me a huge smile, then left the room and told the others the good news. She then returned with some water for me, feeding it to me. “Take it easy, don’t try to drink too fast,” she said.

Cristy certainly got that laser weapon to us quickly and it was given to Carine to use on our ghosts. One of Carine’s abilities is knowing how exactly to use any kind of machine the first time she sees it, she doesn’t need instructions. She began to use it on the other ghosts immediately. Because their strength was reduced to basically zero, she could only give this energy in small bursts, which then turns to strength for the ghosts.

She knew exactly how much each of them could handle in each burst from the laser and she set the amount correctly for each burst. And the amount varied for each of the ghosts, so she was constantly adjusting the amount, but she did so with perfect precision. But is this energy on time?

Carine said it might take up to 24 hours before we would know for sure if Kat and Angel will survive. We already know that Sky will survive, though for all 3 of them, it could be a while before they are back to normal again. That part is okay, we can wait…
