  1. The plane has floats on it, so it won’t sink, plus it’s made from EPO Styrofoam, so that floats as well. Yikes! 20 miles isn’t far from you! Does the emergency services load you onto buses and move you someplace safer?

    Liked by 1 person

    • Yes, for those who don’t have their own transportation, they get put on buses, with one suitcase allowed per person. Since we can’t go west to Winnipeg, we would go east to Thunder Bay. If this wind we have today switched to the west, that fire could be at our doorstep by nightfall.

    • No walk yesterday, busy in the morning then the funeral in the afternoon. Maybe today. However, I want to repot some plants today and get my outdoor planters ready as well.

    • Hi Dusty, I’m back! I’m eating supper, but I’m back. At least I think I am. Working on my planters, going for a walk, falling asleep, making supper. See what you did to me? How was your afternoon? You’re a bit behind on reading. Don’t like my story? Sniff, sniff.😒

  2. No, I’ll get caught up. I’ve just been to busy the last few days to keep up, and today, well, I snooozed alot trying to get my energy level back up.

  3. Yeah, I put together a bird feeder pole and hung up the feeders, but that was all the time I spent outdoors today. Very windy and unsettled weather. They’ve spotted several tornadoes around the state today. None here though.

    Liked by 1 person

    • Hey, good for you! I miss feeding the birds. They’ve had a couple of tornadoes in Manitoba this year too. That wind has really gotten strong here the past hour, really tossing those trees around.

      Liked by 1 person

    • It has also started to cool off quite noticeably as well and there are clouds in the south. Might get some showers tomorrow, but they said not enough to help with the fires.

  4. I’m here! Finally.
I have been out dodging rain drops and getting ready for the float n fly on Sunday in ER on Lake orono. It was supposed to be tomorrow but it’s gonna be too cold and way to windy! So I’ve been tuning up my float plane.

    • I’m here too, again. Not feeling well today, think I’m coming down with something. I get hot and sweaty, then I get cold. I’ve been coughing all day. Yeah, tomorrow is going to be real cold here, a high of only 39 with ice pellets and snow flurries tonight and temp around 32. We’ve had a bit of rain, but not enough to stop those big fires.

  5. I heard on the weather news last night that they were forecasting snow for International Falls and north. Better wrap up warm with a blanket and some cold medicine and stay put for a few days. There’s been a lot of that around here also lately.

    Liked by 1 person

    • Yep, snow in time for our long weekend, it sure happens a lot! Yeah, lots of people in the building here are sick right now and wandering around coughing, making more people sick. Why don’t people stay in their apartment when they’re sick? Sigh.

  6. I suppose you’re right. Make some chicken soup 🍲 and sit back in you recliner with Muffin purring away and just rest. Did you get your laundry done today?

    Liked by 1 person

    • Yep, I did get my laundry done. I will be resting a lot this weekend I think. I’m going to sign off and get to bed, I can barely stay awake. I’ll chatter more tomorrow!πŸ˜ƒ

      Liked by 1 person

    • Good morning Dusty! Get any flying done today? Believe it or not we had periods of heavy snow today!! Fortunately it was just warm enough, right at freezing, to melt as it hit the ground.

    • What? What did I do? I didn’t do it! I’m innocent! Innocent I say!
Oh, good morning too! It’s 37, strong north wind and a few flurries today. Better than yesterday anyway. How’s your fly away day going?

  7. It was/is cold πŸ₯Ά and windy, not as windy as yesterday but still windy.
I flew a few times this morning. It was about 45 degrees at the lake.

    • Hey, that’s not bad, you’re warmer than us anyway. It’s not quite as windy now as this morning and the sun is now shining. Supposed to be a mainly sunny week.

      Liked by 1 person

    • No rain in the forecast for us, maybe showers next weekend. I gotta make something to eat, but I’ll be back and forth, or maybe forth and back. Might even be upside down.πŸ˜‚

  8. Don’t hit your head!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I’ll be around. I’m watching YT videos on rc planes. I’m building a 6 ft wing span gas-powered plane in the coming weeks, so im trying to learn as much as I can.

    • The headache was gone this morning but seems to be returning, though not so bad yet. Yep, a cool morning indeed, it fact it felt cold!! Hard to believe this is the same place, just last Monday it was 72 in the morning and went to 90. This morning it was 34 and should reach 60. The sun is shining but it’s a strong east wind blowing, making it feel extra cold. Good day to stay inside and drink coffee!πŸ˜ƒβ˜•

    • Even with my jacket on this morning I was still cold. But it is warmer than the last couple of days I guess. Think I might repot a couple more plants this afternoon.

    • Good idea, make sure you have everything needed. youtube must have lots of videos available on the subject. Make sure you don’t try to rush through it, slow and easy works best. Wish I was there and able to watch your progress, I’m thinking it will be a lot of fun! I would sure like to try another project of some kind!πŸ˜ƒπŸ€”

  9. Buy a plane plan and work on one. The plans and tools are inexpensive, and so is the balsa wood πŸͺ΅ I think you’d be good at it. You can always sell it on eBay or wherever.

  10. Good Morning!😁 I hope you slept well. It’s another great day here in the hurricane πŸŒ€! It’s a lovely and balmy 42 degrees with a gently wafting from the north 45 mph breeze!πŸ₯Ά I think i may pack up and go back south!!

    Liked by 1 person

    • It was 42 here this morning and a strong east wind once again. It’s just cold out there! And it has been cloudy all morning yet it was supposed to be a completely sunny day. No clouds in the forecast at all. Sigh. Kind of ruined my plans for today. Oh well.πŸ˜¬πŸ™„

  11. Yes, it does… I’m sorry for the bad weather. I’ll need to take some pics of my plane build and email them to you so you can follow along with the build. What do ya think πŸ€”?

    • Hey, I like that idea, it would be nice to see how things get done. I think that wind is getting stronger out there, those trees are really getting tossed around. Our neighboring province had 2 more tornadoes last week, makes 3 for the year so far. That’s early for tornadoes up this way.

    • I figure maybe July or August. We may have had our summer already though. 7 times out of 10 when we get hot weather in May we never get it again that summer!πŸ€”πŸŒž

  12. That’s terrible!! This year will be different!🀨 I am very surprised at the different birds coming to the feeders. There are hummingbirds, Orioles, gold finches, wood peckers, grackle, nut hatches, sparrows, doves, and blackbirds. It’s kinda cool 😎! And that’s all thanks to you! You got me started watching them with your pictures πŸ“Έ. I miss them.πŸ˜’

    Liked by 1 person

    • Yep, having those feeders around sure makes a difference! I miss feeding the birds most of all. Well, there’s still a 30% chance we will still get nice summer weather this summer in the summer time while summer is still summer before summer leaves us!

    • Good morning Dusty! Another sunny day here that is cloudy instead. Sigh. Not sure why the forecasters can’t get it right. Still feels cold though it is 44 right now, but a strong east wind.

  13. Yep! It’s pretty much the same here!😝 At least the hurricane πŸŒ€ winds has died down to a gentle 15 to 20 mph!πŸ˜‚ Sorry for being late with my reply. My plane kit showed up today, and I’ve been inventorying it to make sure there are no damaged or missing pieces. Only two little items were damaged, so I guess that’s not too bad. I’m sure they would replace them, but they are not functionally critical, so I may make my own or repair them. How was lunch? Egg salad tuna fish hamburger and fries?πŸŸπŸ”

    Liked by 1 person

    • Sounds like a great lunch, without the tuna and egg salad and hamburger bun or anything else on the hamburger.
Hey, sounds great, now comes the fun part of building your first plane!
We had a big internet outage over most of the country today so I couldn’t get online earlier. How do they have such a big outage? Oh well, it’s working now at least.πŸ˜ƒ

  14. I’m glad to hear you’re back up and online!
It could be the big winds with all this rain messed up the wires or something. So, what did you eat?πŸ€”πŸ˜‹

    Liked by 1 person

    • Too big an area for that, it affected all the southern part of our province, Quebec and right to the east coast, that’s most of our population.
Well, eat, um, well, it was like, um, y’know one of those days when, well, um, not much.πŸ˜¬πŸ™„

  15. Ugh, sigh πŸ˜• I don’t know how you can do that… Anyway, sorry about disappearing on you last nightπŸ˜’ i kinda lost track of time doing a few things on my plane build and when I checked it was already past 8:30 and I know that’s when you’re done with electronics. I will be more mindful of the time.

    Liked by 1 person

    • Good morning Captain Dusty! I know how time can fly when working on projects, very easy to lose track of time. Yep, I’m done by 8:30, I need that slow down time before bed now. Getting old. How’s things today? Sunny here and only a light wind from the NE. Should hit 64 today!😎🌞

      Liked by 1 person

  16. Yes indeed! It is sunny and warmer with a nice breeze, only it’s more from the north here. It’s just good to see the sun again!😎 How did you sleep? I had quite a dream this morning 😴 I was with someone I miss seeing very much. She has been very close to me and been there for me during some dark times. I sure hope it’s a sign that I will see her again soon. If not, it was nice seeing her in my dream. It’s amazing how it changes your outlook on the day after something like that. Anyway, what about you? What are you up to today? I’m going to have to mow the grass here today, probably. First time this year. Then tomorrow morning, I am helping my friend Dick’s (the one that died 2 years ago), son-in-law tomorrow morning put in their pontoon, so that will be an hour or two job. He’s recovering from blood cancer, he had a bone marrow transplant and is finally getting strong enough he can get out and do some stuff now.

    • Speaking of dreams, I had one two nights in a row, slight change in the two, but not much, but mine wasn’t so nice. The kind I want to forget but can’t and it kind of disrupts my day. Oh well, just a dream. People around here have cut their grass two and three times already. The wind has gotten a lot stronger now. Water bombers are busy again today. Maybe a fire started closer to town. Think I will go out and plant my balcony flowers now.πŸ˜ƒπŸŒΊπŸŒΈ

  17. Yes indeedlydo! I heard on the weather news, even with all this rain and cold weather the fires between Duluth and International Falls are still burning fiercely! No rain made it to that part of the state. Crazy stuff!

    Liked by 1 person

    • Yep, same here, we hardly had any rain and the area west of us where those big fires are burning didn’t get enough rain to make it to the ground. It evaporated over the heat of the fires. East and north of us got quite a bit of rain.

      Liked by 1 person

    • I agree totally. The fire on our side of the border is around 80,000 acres now, on the other side the one fire is now 250,000 acres. If the wind switches to the west we will be blanketed in smoke. Speaking of smoke, it is thick in here tonight, from the neighbors. Sigh.

      Liked by 1 person

  18. Ugh….😝 I don’t know you put up with that. The neighbor next door does that, and it just wreeks even outside. It makes working in my garage hard to do.

    Liked by 1 person

    • It’s not easy at all. My new neighbor is indigenous and she practices “smudging”, which is burning a strong tobacco, sweet grass and a couple other things, but it smolders to produce a lot of smoke. It’s kind of like having 10 people smoking in one room. She leaves her door open, I guess so she can still breathe in there, so it comes in here. It gets so strong at times! They do it to supposedly get rid of negative energy and bad spirits.

    • That was my thoughts exactly! Saw a new born fawn this morning following it’s mother around out back. It was early and by the time I got my phone out to take a pic they were gone.πŸ“· Nice to see though.πŸ˜ƒ I talked with a lady that saw the fawn being born last night. That is something I have still not seen.

  19. I’ve been up for a couple of hours already! 😁 How are you today? Are you watching your plants grow, deer grazing, turkeys walking by or just relaxing with your respirator on enjoying the clear fresh apartment air?πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    Liked by 1 person

    • Ha and ha! Haven’t seen any wildlife, not even a gull flying by. Sigh. I can almost smell that fresh air through the tobacco this morning! Feels good. It says your comment came 44 minutes ago and yet it just showed up. That seems to be normal now with everyone. Oh, I just saw a gull! It’s nice and sunny and 40 this morning!
