The Investigators, Inc. The Case of the Grandchildren. Chapter 12. Fight Time.

After Cristy filled me in on Joseph and Gabriella Meyer, I once again communicated with Jennifer and let her know. I told her it was time to confront the fake grandparents and asked her if she wanted me to join her while she did so. She said no, this was her part of the case and she didn’t want me around to mess things up. I’m not sure what she meant by that.

But I did want another ghost with her group when she confronted the pair, so she consented to have Sky join in, that way she could come back to me if I needed her. I still have Angel with me too. Sky left Azura to help guard me as well, then off she went while everyone was sleeping. In the morning, while we were having breakfast, Kat and some of her Wildcats came bouncing in like they always do, landing at a large empty table.

They never said anything to us and I didn’t let on that they worked for me, but I did watch them, something that Dorothy noticed. “Do you know that group of women?” she asked, “They look like some sort of gang.” “They are a criminal gang with about 200 members,” I said, “they ride around all over Europe. I understand they are now expanding into America and Canada. I was just wondering why they were here in Paris right now. We have enough people to deal with already.”

“I see that one of them seems to be watching us carefully,” said Dorothy. “Yes, I’m not surprised by that,” I said to her, “they know who we are too.” Meanwhile, back with Jennifer and her group. She confronted Joseph and Gabriella after breakfast about their little deception and told them they would be leaving right away. We don’t like when people lie to us.

“We did lie,” Joseph admitted, “but if we told you the truth, that we were criminals and worked for John Meyer, then you wouldn’t help us. But honestly, those two children are real, we adopted them two years ago. Camille saw them and said they were so cute she wanted them to work for her porn videos. We said no, very strongly. I suppose it may seem strange, but we do love those children. But Camille and Tony kidnapped them and used them anyway.

Then the children disappeared which means they likely sold them to someone in Asia, which they often do, or they were killed by some of John’s men. John told us to forget all about the children, we could always adopt more, but we loved those two and wanted them back. We were hoping that you and your team might be able to find them for us, that’s why we hired you.”

“Well, if you had been honest from the beginning,” said Jennifer, “maybe we could have found those children, but it becomes more impossible with each passing day. And it seems like it is something that you and your family need to sort out. I don’t know how you expected us to help when you didn’t tell us what was going on. So, we are leaving.” “Well, I’m afraid we can’t really let you leave,” said Joseph, “you must stay as our, shall we say, “guests”.

“Sorry, but we are leaving,” said Jennifer again. Then she and all the girls got up and went out to their cars. But as soon as they got close to the cars, men came running out from every direction, with automatic weapons and quickly had them surrounded. Even with Jennifer and Sky, there was no way they could protect the other 7 girls. Jennifer immediately communicated their problem with me, and I relayed the information to Kat. She was furious and came bouncing back over to us.

“You tell Joseph Meyer that he has incurred the wrath of the Kat!” she said angrily, but still in her little girl voice. She was about to leave at that point, but I asked her to stay. I also asked if her brother was close by. I already knew where he and the Black Wolves would be, but I had to do things this way for the moment. Kat smiled and said she would contact her brother right away. “You work with criminals too?” asked Dorothy.

So I told her that my wife was Kat’s sister and they had an older brother named Aari, leader of a criminal gang called the Black Wolves. “My wife is the only one of the three that decided to follow life as a law abiding citizen,” I said, “but Kat and Aari will still help her, and by extension, me and my team also. Family ties can be strong, and they have helped us on more than one occasion.” “I always say, use what you have available,” said Dorothy smiling.

Then Misty called and told us that Tony and Camille were in Paris right now looking for Arielle. “Oh please, don’t let them find me!” she pleaded, “You said you would protect me!” “We will protect you,” I said, “so don’t worry about Tony and Camille.” We were now finishing breakfast, so after paying, we went back out to our limousine and Sherry opened the trunk. I then opened a secret compartment revealing several types of guns.

Dorothy was impressed, especially with one rifle. “How close do you need to be to hit someone with that?” I asked her. “Not very close,” she said, smiling, “want me to do something?” Meanwhile, back with Jennifer and her group. “Okay girls,” said Jennifer, “when I say ‘now’, get in the cars quickly and stay there.”

She said ‘now’ and the girls moved fast and the men began to shoot, but too late, only Jennifer and Sky remained outside and they didn’t fall no matter how many times those men shot. Joseph and Gabriella were standing by the door to the house so Sky quickly tossed a lightning ball at them and it was a direct hit, killing them both. Amerie tossed a gun out to Jennifer and she started shooting at the men…
