The Investigators, Inc. Sky’s Past Returns. Chapter 2. Help.

Will Mandar get back in time to help us? He has 4 of his men with him, so they would be a great help right now since we are getting knocked down quite easily. Benson was the next to attack Josh. Benson is a big strong man too and put up a good fight with Josh. But he finally lost when Josh slammed Benson’s head onto the car. Rock and John got the call and jumped into one of Baldwin’s helicopters and were quickly on their way back to the chateau.

Baldwin called his house security and told them to come and help us as well. Mandar and his men were back first and after a short gunfight, the men of Carole Ann gave up and tossed their guns down, as did the fake police. Three lay dead on the side of Carole Ann, only Tracy was still standing on our side, plus Kristina who was told to stay inside in case someone got in the chateau. But she could not take it any longer and came out. She saw Mandar back and came running over, with her gun ready.

She looked around and could not believe her eyes. She then went to Carole Ann and gave her a good hard backhanded slap, causing her to fall against her car. Josh was about to move but Mandar warned him to not move. “I would love to end your existence,” said Mandar, “so I would suggest you stand still. And that goes for you too, woman. Now, Kristina, what might this be about?” “This woman says she wants Sky and that she has a warrant for her arrest,” replied Kristina.

“Hmm, interesting,” said Mandar, who had already discovered the police were not real, “so, you were going to arrest Sky with false police and likely a false warrant as well. Now you have much to answer for and will spend a good deal of time behind bars.” “I will not, my lawyers will get me off without a problem,” she sneered. “Oh, is that right?” said Mandar, “well, I think you will find out differently. These people have the best lawyers around.” “I do not care, Sky is mine,” she said, “I own her!”

Kristina had come over to check on me and the girls, until she heard Carole say that about Sky. That was too much for her and she came over and kicked Carole hard in the stomach, knocking her to the ground groaning in pain. Right then the security men from Baldwin showed up, so Kristina called Chung to come with the ambulances. She also told him what to expect when he got there. Chung got things moving quickly and soon the ambulances arrived.

They had to move me very carefully, not knowing what my back was like. Meow, meow.=Chop chop come. “Well,” said Mandar to Carole, “your animal is soon going to meet a man that could easily take him down in a fight.” “I doubt that,” said Carole, “Josh can take anyone.” The helicopter landed as they were taking me to the ambulance. Rock and John came running over. Tracy told Rock what Josh had done. “Come here,” said Rock, “fight me, unless you are afraid.” “Get him Josh!” said Carole.

He came for Rock, but he never had a chance for even one punch. Rock just kept hitting him until he was on the ground, and out. “I told you your animal could not win that fight,” said Mandar. Carole was livid at this point and just screamed that she owned Sky and was going to get her yet. Josh stood up again, groaning, and leaned against the car. Mandar went over to where MC was standing. Muffin had gone in the ambulance with me.

“Do you think you could hit that animal from here?” he said quietly to MC. Meow.=Yep, that easy. “Perhaps you need some practice,” said Mandar again, “it might take two shots though, we must be thorough you know.” MC looked, then flipped over and “Thwock!” Josh groaned and held his head. Then “Thwock!”, a second time and Josh fell to the ground, dead. “Hey, what happened to Josh?” yelled Carole.

John went to look and picked up the steel balls at the same time. “He is dead,” said John and walked away. “One of you did that, I know you did, speak up!” she yelled. “Perhaps it was this little cat that killed your animal,” said Mandar calmly. “Do not make fun of me!” she retorted, “I will get all of you for this, I will indeed!”

MC went to Kristina. “Good boy,” she said quietly. Meow.=Well, he hurt my Muffin by hurting her human, maybe real bad too. “I hope he will be okay,” said Kristina. Rock had gone and let the others out of the library. Sky looked around. “Where is Steve?” she asked. “Come my dear,” said Mandar, “I will take you to him, he is at the clinic and needs you by his side.” John and Benson went along too.

Coffee For Thursday. #27

Good morning to everyone! It is a nice morning here, the sun is shining beautifully, the sky is a deep blue and it is mild again. The temperature earlier this morning was 28F (-2C). It hardly felt like winter at all. There is not much bird activity this morning though. There were, and still are, a few chickadees out there, but not as many as before. A couple of evening grosbeaks were here for perhaps 5 minutes and then left.

The nuthatches are here, still 5 of them. I have not seen the woodpeckers. But, all 12 blue jays have been here, off and on, this morning. Yesterday the temperature actually rose to a high of 39F (4C) and sunny. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control, I was not able to get out for a walk or even get outside to take pictures of the birds. There were not many birds around in the afternoon anyway.

Squirk, one of my older squirrels, eating a piece of bread.

But it would have been a perfect day for walking to the river. Or at least part way. Oh well. This afternoon is supposed to be cloudy with freezing drizzle. That is not so good, it will just make everything icy. It is supposed to stay nice like this until Saturday, perhaps longer, then it will get back to more normal winter weather for late November. When I put the hanging feeders out early this morning, Chipper the chickadee was here, by himself. He is always first it seems.

LB, another of my older squirrels on a cold winter day.

Jasper was out as well, but he never came over here, it looked like he and Copper were getting ready for some fun. Well, fun for me anyway. I enjoy watching them chase each other through the trees. It is just amazing how long they can keep it up. They are not very big, but they sure have a lot of energy. For those who might not know, these are red squirrels, and they are small. Not like those big gray squirrels. Anyway, those red squirrels do have their fun.

Mama D relaxing on the thin edge of the feeder having her breakfast on a warm summer morning.

I mean, I have fun watching them with their fun in chasing. Well, to them it is not fun, it is serious business, but to me it looks like fun when I watch them, even if it isn’t fun to them. But it still is fun to me. Watching them, I mean. Oh well. Anyway, today is squirrel picture day. I do like squirrels, though they can be a nuisance at times as well. But they are fun too. I think it is time for another cup of coffee. Well, I hope you have a beautiful day and God bless!

Steve and Muffin.
