For a smile as wide as a country sunrise

Good morning everyone and Happy Sunday!
I hope you are all doing well today. Well, today we have a nice picture of what looks like, to me anyway, a bunch of fancy little lights that are glowing brightly. The sun just hit them beautifully so I could not resist taking a picture. This is the remains of a wildflower called “Yarrow”, and now it has dried and gone to seed. There is just so much natural beauty out there waiting to be photographed. Why not see what you can find? Have a beautiful Sunday everyone and God bless!

Good morning and Happy Saturday everyone! Time for a coffee and a look outside. It is another chilly morning with a temp of 56F (13C), actually a bit warmer than our high yesterday. It is still cloudy and rainy as well. We are not getting much rain, just enough to make things wet which also makes it feel colder. So far we have had an inch (25mm) of rain, which is not so bad.
But more is coming next week, maybe a lot more. It depends on how that next weather system hits us. It is supposed to get colder too. However, Monday and Tuesday will be more normal September days. All of the chipmunks are gone, even little GPS has gone now. I hope he managed to get enough food for the winter.

The chickadees, nuthatches, blue jays and one goldfinch have been enjoying the seeds/peanuts this morning. Good thing I had those peanuts set aside for Scramble, that is what I am using for the blue jays now. I sure hope the store has peanuts in stock on Monday when I go shopping. I would hate to lose my blue jays. Oh well. It sure feels and looks like fall now. It is in the air, the temperature, the rain, the short days.

It all makes it feel like fall. Even when you cannot see the colors, a person can tell it is fall. Everything changes. Lakes can be calm and beautiful in the summer, with lots of bird activity and busy insects going from flower to flower. In the fall, the same lake just looks different. Grass is now brown, small undergrowth has changed color or lost their leaves completely.
The scene, though, can look much the same, yet still you can tell it is fall. The water has become cooler, always there are more clouds around, it is often very quiet except for a few little birds like chickadees or a woodpecker tapping on a dead tree. Usually there are very few, if any, insects around. The lake becomes different with all of this. It is still beautiful, but it is different.

Soon the colors will show more in the trees. Some are already changing to their yellow fall color. Fall is a brilliant, colorful time of year. It can be sunny and warm, or it can be cloudy with rain and wind. Each fall is different. Each fall is beautiful. It is a wonderful time of year to photograph nature in all of its colorful beauty. When it is a nice day anyway.

I prefer sunny weather for all of my photography, but especially in the fall in order to capture that brilliant color. All so peaceful, wonderful solitude. Well, thank you again for coming by, I hope you enjoy the lake pictures, from summer to early fall. The next lake pictures will hopefully show some color. Have a wonderful day everyone and God bless!
