For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning to everyone on this fine Monday! It is cloudy once again, but mild, at least compared to what we usually have anyway. As I mentioned yesterday, there is a small snowstorm coming our way later today. But it is going to be nice and mild all day, getting up to about 21F (-6C) and not much wind this afternoon. That will make a nice time for walking to the river. I figure I better take this opportunity, because with the extra snow, and not much foot traffic down that last part of the path, it might not be walkable for me for quite some time. Just when I got started walking to the river too. Oh well.
But it depends on how much snow we actually get later. If we do not get as much as they forecast, then it will be fine. After the snow it will get cold again for a few days, back down into the minus 30s. Oh well, it is still winter, must expect things like that. I made some fresh suet cakes for the birds to put out today, it is still dark at the moment, so I will wait a little. I could put them out now but then I would have to stop writing. Once I start, I do not like to stop until I’m finished.

Well, most of the time anyway. I’m up early this morning because it is my shopping day. Muffin is up early because I am up early. I want to write my post. Muffin wants to play. I will be back in a little while. There we go. Muffin has had her playtime now. I have my headache now. Not really from playing with Muffin, although that is kind of the reason.
But really it is because the table got in the way when I tried to catch Muffin’s mousey and my head slammed into the table leg. It hurt. Actually, Muffin is still playing, running around to be exact. And she is really going. There she goes, onto the bed, onto the window sill, onto the insulator shelves and into her cave. Now she will look out the bedroom window for a bit and go to sleep on her bed, which is on top of the insulator shelves. She likes sleeping up high like that.

I guess it would be warmer for one thing. And she loves her old quilt to sleep on, soft and warm. The quilt is not super old, from the 1950s and I do not think it was ever used much, if at all. Anyway, Muffin enjoys it. She likes my antique blankets and coverlets too since they are wool. I like them as well, they are nice and warm and they are staying on my bed. I have to put my foot down sometimes…and it did not bleed for very long. Well, off to shopping, thank you for reading, have a wonderful day and God bless!

The photographer for a national magazine was assigned to get photos of a major fire. Smoke at the scene was too thick to get any good shots. The photographer frantically called his office to hire a plane. His editor assured him a plane would be waiting at the airport. Sure enough when he got to the airport a small plane was warming up near the runway. He jumped in with his camera and yelled to get going. The pilot swung the plane into the wind and soon they were in the air. The photographer told him to fly over the north side of the fire and make 3 or 4 low passes. The pilot was a bit puzzled and asked why. The photographer told him he was going to take some pictures of the fire, because, after all, he was a photographer and that is what he does for a living. He was a bit exasperated having to explain himself. After a long pause the pilot said, “You mean you are not the flight instructor?”
A grin or a groan, I hope you enjoyed it! Have a great day everyone and God bless!
