For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
After visiting with Beryan in the clinic, I disappeared for a while, but I forgot to tell Sky. Soon everyone was looking for me and there was a knock at the door. I opened it and Cristy came crawling inside. “I knew you would be here,” she said, “everyone is looking for you since you didn’t tell Sky where you were going.” “Sky. Right.” I said and she was beside me smiling.
“Oooo, a little hideaway spot,” she said, “you’re being bad. You know you’re supposed to tell me where you go. Jennifer will be upset about this.” “I’m sorry,” I said, “I completely forgot. I needed time alone to think.” “So you two built a hideaway spot,” she said, “and didn’t invite me. That’s double bad.” “No, Misty and I made it for ourselves,” said Cristy, “and Steve found out and sneaked in.”
“Oooo, that’s triple bad,” said Sky. “Did you bring donuts?” I asked. “Am I supposed to?” she asked in return. “It’s a requirement for using our hideaway,” said Cristy. Sky disappeared and returned shortly with Angel. “I brought us each a donut,” said Sky. “That’s all?” I asked. “Hey, that’s all I could find,” she said, “and I had to sneak these ones.”
“Oooo, sneaked donuts,” said Cristy, “they’re the best kind.” “Who is on the computer watch while you’re in here?” I asked. “Pacca is today,” replied Cristy. So I asked Pacca to get in touch with Jazzy for me. We were all munching donuts when Jazzy called. I told her what was going on, including the snipers.
“I doubt the snipers are part of your case,” she said, “but I do know Leopold Meyer, he’s more dangerous than he looks at first, so be careful. He’s very wealthy and certainly can’t be trusted, but you probably knew that part already.” I then told her about Wolfgang. “Killing Wolfgang will bring you a big headache Steve,” she said, “he has 5 brothers and 2 cousins, plus 10 friends that hang out together waiting for contracts to come their way.
Kristina must be quite the fighter if she could take on Wolfgang and kill him. Apparently he has killed 21 men just using his hands and feet. His brothers and cousins are just as good at fighting as he is. Please remember that if they come looking for you or your girls. Even those big guys you have might not stand a chance against that bunch. I will see what I can find out for you.”
Then she gave me some interesting news about an old “friend” of ours in Germany. Maybe he could give me some information about Leopold. Hmm, that might be a thought, but I’ll keep that in reserve for now. Mandar is away again on another business trip, so I can’t ask him about this Leopold Meyer. It’s quite possible that he knows him though since Meyer is quite a wealthy man.
Jazzy did tell me that Meyer is a punctual type individual and he goes for lunch at the same restaurant Monday to Friday at precisely 13:00. I then called Misty and told her this news so she could arrange another visit with Mr. Meyer. Meanwhile, back in Milan. The police were heading back to talk with Misty and her girls at the hotel, but then the police chief called them.
“We’re on our way sir,” said the officer. “Change those orders,” he said, “leave those women alone and that is your new order.” “Um, yes sir,” he said, “but why the change?” “Don’t ask questions,” he said, “just obey the order.” “Yes sir,” he said. “Now what?” said the other officer. “We stay away from them, I guess,” he said. He then called Mr. Meyer and told him the news. “Obviously this woman has some influence,” said Mr. Meyer, “so stay away from her for now.”
He then called Camille. “What do you know about this mysterious, powerful woman you’re sister kept talking about?” asked Mr. Meyer. “Just what I told you before,” she said, “she only told us she had a very good friend who was wealthy and powerful. And this friend would help her out if she was ever in trouble.” “That is not very helpful,” he said, “but she does have influence.
She stopped the police investigation into what she is doing here and why that man Wolfgang was killed. Getting him involved was definitely a bad judgement call you made.” “What?” she asked, “We didn’t call him, we thought you did. We wouldn’t even know how to get in touch with someone like that.” “I assure you it was not me,” he said, “I do not associate with that kind of person.
I only use a better quality hit man, for safety reasons. I do not like the idea of someone else getting involved with things, it can complicate matters very quickly. Isn’t there anyone else in your family that might know about Rose’s friend?”
“Well, we do have another sister, Arielle, that might know something,” said Camille, “but finding her is never easy, she keeps moving around and never gives anyone her address. She prefers to keep her distance from everyone. We also have a brother, Claude, who lives in Paris, but it’s doubtful he would be of much help, he didn’t spend much time with us girls.”
“Contact your brother anyway,” he said, “and I will try to find this Arielle for you.” Back to us. Pacca told me what she heard and the two names of the sister and brother. Now we are getting somewhere. Having hacked into Camille’s phone has perhaps paid off finally. But, now we have another problem.
Who hired this Wolfgang to come after Misty? Is this connected to our sniper “friend”? But why would that person hire a man like this when his snipers seem to do a perfect job on their own? It doesn’t really make sense. But to be honest, nothing in this case is making sense anyway. Then Jennifer called…

It was now dark and the girls were back in their hotel. They had two of them in the hall all night for guard duty. Actually, they changed every two hours, that way they could all get enough sleep. Anyway, Kristina was about to shower and she noticed they had not brought fresh towels yet, so she asked Misty to remind them, which she did promptly.
One of the hotel employees came up to the second floor with towels for everyone, but there was a man with her too. That didn’t sit well with the guards, so they asked him who he was looking for. “Oh, a Miss Misty,” he said, “I am a friend of hers and heard she was in the city.” “You are lying sir,” they said, and that was all they remember. He went into action, hitting the girls in the throat first, then he proceeded to kick and punch amazingly fast.
Finally he slammed each of them, head first, into the wall. The rest of the girls were so busy talking in their rooms that they didn’t hear a thing, except the last thump. But then it was quiet, so they thought it was people that were staying across the hall from them. They were a bit noisy. “Now young lady,” said the mystery man, “you will let them know the towels have arrived, then keep totally quiet and I will not hurt you. But, try to run or yell and I will kill you. Understand?”
“Yes, I understand,” she said very nervously. Then she knocked and said she had their towels, so Misty opened the door wide, something we are never to do. The man pushed his way in and began kicking and hitting Misty, then slammed her head against the desk and she fell to the floor. That’s when the employee screamed! That alerted Kristina who came out of the shower and into the other room, invisible, and she attacked the man who was now beating the employee.
Kristina kicked and punched this man numerous times and finally with one last kick while he was against the wall. He then fell to the floor, dead. The other girls were now in the room too and Kitty communicated to me what had happened. I immediately contacted Kat and told her to get her Wildcats over to Misty’s hotel right away, and to watch for any other men that might be hanging around the hotel. Kat got her Wildcats up and going fast, since they were not yet in bed.
They were not far away either and didn’t see anyone around outside the hotel, but when Kat went in first she noticed two men waiting in the lounge area and told some of her girls to hang onto them. Six of them went into the lounge and over to the men. “Hi fellas, waiting for someone?” asked Amber. “Yeah, unfortunately,” said the one, “and when he gets back down we have to leave right away.” “I’m afraid you won’t be leaving,” said Amber, “until we have a little talk.”
Then the girls pulled out their guns and took the guns, and knives, from the two men. “Now, who are you working for?” asked Amber. “Don’t get involved,” said the same man, “it’s no place for little girls.” That’s when these girls decided to toss these guys around a little. Then they dumped them back onto their chairs and Amber asked again. One man said they worked for Wolfgang who had gone upstairs to see a woman named Misty.
“And who is Wolfgang working for?” asked Amber, “I’m getting a bit impatient with you two.” There was no answer, so they picked up one man. Then Kera and Marlena kicked him a couple more times, knocking him back onto his chair. “Your turn,” said Amber to the other man. “No, no, we’re working for Mancini,” he said, “Tony Mancini.” “Coward!” said the other man, “Wolfgang will kill you for that.”
“That man’s name is Wolfgang, Kat,” said Amber, “how is he?” “He’s dead,” said Kat, “Kristina made sure of that.” “Well, well,” said Amber to the two men, “guess you will have to get a new boss.” “You killed Wolfgang?” said the second man, “When his family finds out, you gals will be dead too.” “Don’t count on it boys,” said Amber, “lots of men have tried to kill us, but the Wildcats still roar. And if that man’s family comes after us, they will be ripped apart by our claws.”
Then Kat told them to let the men go, so they did. “Our guns and knives,” said the one man. “They belong to us now,” said Amber, “be thankful we’re letting you go.” “Thanks,” said the second man. “You never say thanks to a stupid dame,” said the first man. That’s when Amber kicked him hard in the stomach. He groaned and fell to his knees. “Getting on your knees is even better than saying thanks,” said Amber, and the girls laughed.
The men finally made it out the front door but immediately fell to the sidewalk. They had been shot in the head! Meanwhile, “Well done, my dear,” said a male voice, “your next target will bring you a very nice bonus.” “Thank you sir,” said the sniper, “it shall be done tomorrow.” Back to us again. Sky and myself arrived in Misty’s room to pick up the wounded and bring them back to the clinic.
The girls in the hall were the worst injured, plus the employee which I decided to take with us. The manager said she had no family or friends in the city, she was just here working off a debt she owed a Mr. Meyer who owned the hotel. That is quite interesting. The manager insisted we leave the woman behind since it would be up to Mr. Meyer what to do with her. I told him the decision was mine and if Mr. Meyer didn’t like it, then he could contact me to object.
But I also said it wouldn’t do him any good. I told the manager to tell Mr. Meyer to mind his own business, this is not something for amateurs. Sky took the girls that were on guard and I took Misty and the employee. We were soon at the clinic with Dr. Samantha checking out everyone. “You won’t be taking me off my case, will you Steve?” asked Misty, “It’s my first case and I can do this.”
“Well, right now it’s up to Samantha,” I told her, “we have to wait and see what she says.” Amazingly Samantha gave her the green light to return to work in the morning, but she will be a bit sore, so she should take it easy for a couple days. Laura and Abigail didn’t fare quite as well, so they will have to stay at the clinic, along with the employee. I will send Nakedra and Natasha from my team to replace them.
The next morning Sky and I returned the girls to Milan, then we went back home. I didn’t like the fact those two men had been shot and killed by our sniper “friend”. Kat had wanted to follow them. But, maybe that is why they were killed. Does this sniper, or snipers really, work for Tony? Or do they work for Leopold Meyer?
That last one would be the most likely. I had just finished visiting Beryan who is still in the clinic after being shot by those snipers. I apologized to her a second time for my stupidity which put her there. She didn’t agree with me about that however. Soon there was a knock at the door and I opened it…
