Monday’s Musings #21.

Good morning everyone! Wow, what a nice day it was yesterday, felt just like summer again! For a day. Now we’re back to fall today with clouds, showers, thundershowers and rather chilly, actually cold after yesterday. But that’s the way it works around here. We sometimes get that one day of summer in September, even warmer than what we had yesterday, but it’s always just one day. It’s going to be a cool week too. But that’s also normal. Four years ago we had winter begin on October 8, starting with a nice big snowstorm. That was a bit early, even for us. That’s only 3 weeks away too.

Saturday evening at around 9 Muffin was looking out the window so I decide to see what she was looking at. Nothing. Kind of dark out there, Muffin can see fine, but not me. I need some light. Just then Muffin looked to the left, which is where the steps are located coming onto the deck. Then suddenly there is this big black furry head looking in the window at us! Muffin took off running! Must admit I nearly jumped right up to the ceiling myself. Same bear that did that the other night. His head is different than the other bears, fatter and a shorter nose than normal, so he’s easy to pick out. That really got my heart thumping though, just was not expecting that at all.

Beautiful little viola.

Yesterday was such a nice day though, so I spent much of the afternoon outside enjoying the warmth and sunshine and getting a few pictures. Nothing unusual but I haven’t been getting many pics lately so I wanted to get some nice sunny ones. Did my daily driveway walking, not very exciting as usual. Talked with the chipmunks on the deck for a while, plus Baxter the blue jay as well. Then I came back inside for a bit and was planning to go back out again after a while. But just a few minutes after I came inside I heard footsteps coming up the stairs so I looked, sure enough it was a bear! Glad I didn’t stay outside longer or that bear would have come right up behind me! Can’t hear them walking through the grass.

So I decided to stay inside after that. Sigh. Did I get a picture of the bear? No. Why, you ask? Because I would have to go outside to do that, and I really didn’t want to go out. He’s a lot bigger than me. I would love to get a picture of a bear in the sunshine like that, but it will have to be done from a safer distance. Ten feet is not a safe distance. A few years ago I would have done it, but I think it’s safe to say I have become a chicken. Sad, isn’t it? Oh well. Off to do some shopping, then back later for another chapter of my mystery story. Thanks for stopping by today, have a great day to each and every one of you and God bless!

Steve And Muffin’s Monday Smiles #5.

He everyone! Here are some more smiles to start of your Monday, or any other time for that matter! I hope you enjoy them;

Little Johnny wanted to go to the zoo and pestered his parents for days. Finally his mother talked his reluctant father into taking him.

“So how was it?” his mother asked when they returned home.

“Great!” Little Johnny replied excitedly.

“Did you and your father have a good time?” asked his mother.

“Yeah, Daddy really liked it, too,” exclaimed Little Johnny, “especially when one of the horses came home at 30 to 1!”

I am at the age where each day is a wonder. I wonder what is going to hurt today.

==============

A little girl asked her mother, “Can I go outside and play with the boys?

“Her mother replied, “No, you can’t play with the boys, they’re too rough.

“The little girl thought about it for a few moments and asked, “If I find a smooth one, can I play with him?

“The difference between in-laws and outlaws is that outlaws are wanted.

Hope you have a great day and God bless!
