Thinking Of Dad, A Poem.

Since today is Father’s Day, I thought I would like to do a different kind of tribute to dad this year. This year a bit of comedy is the theme, something my dad always enjoyed. So, here is my poem for dad on this beautiful Sunday, which is Father’s Day.

Thinking Of Dad

I think of dad with such joy,

To him I was more than “his boy”.

Oft we would laugh and have such fun,

For my best friend, he was the one.

We liked fishing, hiking and such,

Those were times we enjoyed so much.

Accident prone, that was my dad,

So I would help, with what I had.

Wide-eyed, my dad would always say,

Bonehead, don’t help, please go away!

On a hike, we would stop to eat,

Which for my dad, was quite a feat.

He would tell me, to toss his food,

But his catching, was not so good.

Sandwiches mush, coffee would spill,

And through all this, I laughed until

I could not breathe, my stomach sore,

I said to my dad, please, no more!

But later on, my dad would say,

He loved those times, with me alway.

And I can say, I love my dad,

With all those precious times we had.

Sunday’s Sunshine #12.

Good morning everyone! It’s cool and cloudy this morning, but still beautiful. There are some birds singing, though further away once again. The gulls were here nice and early for their breakfast. The chipmunks started to come as well, but the squirrels have interrupted their breakfast. Jasper, Jasmine and Freddie were here this morning, needless to say there were a lot of “discussions” taking place.

Peony.

I haven’t seen Freddie for a long time and he didn’t want to leave either. But Jasmine held her ground and Freddie didn’t get any peanuts. I’m not putting any more out right now until those 3 go back home for a while. The chipmunks need some food too. And I don’t want Freddie hanging around, Jasper and Jasmine are fine, but no other squirrels.

Peony.

By the way, there is still time to get your name in for our new chipmunk! Tomorrow we pick the name for this new little guy, so why not join in the fun? It is a male, naturally. I say that because that’s all I have ever had around here. And yet every year new babies show up, and that means there is a at least one female in the area, and not too far away. And there’s probably more than one. But they never come around, which is odd. Oh well.

Peony, plus buds.

Yesterday the new chipmunk actually came to me and took peanuts from my hand. He learned fast. But he wouldn’t come on my knee to get the peanuts, even though he was looking, and watching the other chipmunks. All the other 5 were crawling all over me yesterday, having lots of fun. It’s a beautiful Sunday morning. I hope you enjoy today’s flowers, have a wonderful day and God bless! (😺3 days!)
