One Morning

I sit beside a lake one morn,

And watch a sunny day be born.

With each new ray of light I saw,

It filled my heart, with greatest awe.

The lake is calm, and smooth as glass,

Some ducks do swim, next to the grass.

Under a bush, a noise I heard,

Scratching around, a little bird.

Slowly along, a heron walks,

Stealthy he moves, in reeds he stalks.

A loon swims by, chick on it’s back,

Swimming so smooth, naught does she lack.

The birds, chirping, with cheery song,

They sing so sweet, so clear, so strong.

Little flower, is blooming too,

So small, yet bold, in vivid blue.

Now as I sit, and look around,

My what beauty, that can be found!
