For a smile as wide as a country sunrise

Hi everyone and welcome back! Today’s bird is the white-breasted nuthatch, we saw his cousin a while back, the red-breasted nuthatch. These birds are bigger and prefer deciduous trees, but will live in areas with mixed forest, therefore they don’t go as far north as their smaller cousins. They don’t migrate, just stay where they are year round. And they stay with the same mate as well, but will take a new mate if one dies. They usually use old woodpecker nests for their nests since they nest inside trees only and are not really able to make their own cavity in the tree. The female builds the nest and will lay 5 to 9 eggs, a lot for a little bird. They eat mainly insects and nearly all are harmful insects. In winter they also eat seeds and nuts, and they are easily attracted to bird feeders. About 85% of these birds live in the US, 10% in Mexico and only 5% in Canada. They love hanging around upside down like their cousins and will start at the top of a tree and go head first down the tree looking for insects.

Have a wonderful day everyone and God bless!

Muffin looks at me, Meow, meow.=You not say anything, let me talk. “Steve?, Steve, is that you?,” asks Linnea. Meow, meow.=Human Linnea, this Muffin, we in big trouble, not know where we are and my human sick, lose memory, not know who he is or who we are. Need to call Rossana, she can find us through your watch and human Steve watch. Must go fast. Lena heard all this and was already calling Rossana. Rossana started things going and pinpointed our location, “wow,” she said, “they are way over in Germany in a very remote part of a forest. We will get a police helicopter out there right away.” Then Baldwin asked for the location, he had his helicopter sitting in the yard at their chateau. He got some of his men on board to go look for us, well armed men.

Linnea wanted to go also and Lena decided she better go too, in case Linnea needs help. Baldwin then decided to stay back with Calanthe. It was a large helicopter and would easily reach us in time. Of course the cats and I did not know about this time limit deal. We just sat and waited. A police and forestry helicopter arrived at the location, but there was nothing there, except trees. They did not see a house or us anywhere. So they decided to expand their search a bit. Baldwin’s helicopter showed up around 3pm. Meow!=Hey, I hear chop chop bird! “What is that?” I ask. Meow, meow=it big kinda plane with choppy thing on top. “Oh, you mean a helicopter,” I said, “hey, that means someone is here looking for us.
Meow, meow!=Maybe it human Baldwin helicopter! Suddenly I got very angry. “Baldwin? Baldwin?! I’ll kill him, I’ll kill him!!”, I yelled angrily. The cats looked at each other and Chomp! Chomp! “AAAA!!!”, I yelled, “why did you do that?” I had settled down to normal as quickly as I had gotten angry. Meow.=You go crazy when Muffin mention name of… Muffin stopped him from saying Baldwin’s name again. Meow, meow.=Me think I know what going on now and… “Hey, there’s a ladder by the house, I will go onto the roof and use this mirror I found in my backpack to signal them,” I said excitedly, interrupting Muffin.

Meow, meow!=That not look safe on roof of house! “It will be fine,” I said, and up I went while the cats stayed over by the tree. Once up there I could see the helicopter so I started flashing the sunlight with the mirror, they should see that easily. Lena called Calanthe, “we found Steve, he’s flashing a signal to us!”, she nearly screamed into the phone. Linnea started getting the ladder reader to lower, the guys opened the door and the ladder was tossed out. “Linnea, what are you doing?”, screamed Lena. “I want to be ready to help Steve,” she said. “Wait, let me help too,” yelled Lena, “wait Linnea, wait!” I was watching as the helicopter came closer.
Then…suddenly…a loud roar and the whole helicopter was a ball of fire falling in pieces to the forest floor. I couldn’t believe what I saw. What happened? An accident? Or was it shot down? What is going on around here? That pain in my head again. Then two men showed up with guns and called for me to come down. Reluctantly I did so. Once I was on the ground again…Thwock! Thwock! And the two men were lying on the ground. I quickly grabbed their guns and the cats came running over to find their ball and muffin which they located quickly and I put them back in their backpacks. Then we went back to the tree.

Meanwhile, Baldwin got the news. “Sit down Calanthe,” said Baldwin, “bad news, the helicopter exploded in such a fireball they said there could be no survivors, but they are sending in a rescue team to check through the wreckage. That’s my personal helicopter, when it’s in the air, so am I, this is the first time in years I haven’t been on it. I think someone knows I’m always on it. They don’t want Steve, they want to kill me.” Calanthe looked at her brother, then started crying. Back to us. The police helicopter flew over the cats and I. We’re rescued, but I’m still nowhere even if I’m somewhere. Meow, meow=Not mention to human people that we talk, might think you crazy. What is going on? People try to kill us. People die looking for us. I hold that gun. Seems like I have done this before, but in a dream. Or is this the dream? I’m nowhere and I’m so frustrated I want to scream!
