Good Saturday morning everyone! It’s cloudy here and we had just a little extra snow overnight changing everything back to complete white ground again. In some places the snow had melted away completely, however those places were few. There is still about 2 to 3 inches of snow on the ground, mostly frozen quite hard now. There are so many birds around now, the little juncos and sparrows crawling around everywhere looking for food wherever they can find some. It’s too cold and too much snow for them to leave now, so they wait for a warmer day to come along so they can continue their migration south. And by the first week of November they should have that warmer weather, if the forecast is correct. We should actually be getting temps in the low 40s F (5C) at that time. Kind of hard to believe it would get that warm in November though, it would be unusual. But possible.

The feeders have been very busy this morning as well. The evening and pine grosbeaks were filling the big feeder for awhile until Theodore showed up for his breakfast. He just comes walking up the steps, across the deck and with a boost from his wings he’s on the feeder. A little junco came on the feeder with him. They looked at each other. Theodore lowered his head to get a closer look. Maybe he was trying to figure out if that little thing was really a bird. Anyway, they started eating together without any problems. I think there’s a good lesson for us human’s in there. Just because 2 people supposedly “look different” shouldn’t mean anything, we can still get along, be friends and work together. It’s been a busy morning, in more ways than one, and I’m worn out already. Still lots to do today as well. Hmm, looks like the blue jays are back for more peanuts and Theodore has left so more sunflower seeds are needed for the grosbeaks.

We have some nice bright yellow flowers for our pics for today. The featured image is called a fringed loosestrife, a beautiful wildflower that grows most anywhere. Then we have some bright and cheerful yellow stonecrop which seems to like rocky areas the most, are very easy to grow and need little care. I hope you have a wonderful Saturday and God bless!
