Good morning everyone on this cloudy Saturday morning. I hope you are all able to enjoy at least part of your weekend. If the weather is nice don’t forget to go outside and enjoy it for a while. I am taking a chance here this morning and hopefully I can get this posted before my laptop freezes again. It’s such a weird situation with this machine. It will work for a few minutes, then it freezes solid. Fortunately I have everything backed up so nothing will be lost, but I can’t access anything with my phone. The joys of our modern technology. Jasper and the chipmunks don’t need to worry about that. They just worry about each other. Jasper yesterday came onto the deck and Skamper was getting his peanuts so the chase was on! Skamper went in one of the other boxes but there was already a chipmunk in there, and another in the next box, and another in the next box. Poor Jasper, he didn’t know what to do with 4 chipmunks to chase. They were going in 4 different directions and Jasper was scrambling to chase each one. Finally they all jumped off the deck with Jasper after one of them. Meanwhile, Coffee was sitting there loading up with peanuts and left before Jasper got back. It was fun to watch a confused Jasper trying to figure out which chipmunk to chase. I tossed a peanut to him, he sat up and looked around and a blue jay swooped down, grabbed the peanut and was gone. Then Jasper came over to check. You’re too slow Jasper. I gave him a peanut anyway. He ran off happy.

The featured image at the top is a painted turtle, very common around here, more so on the lakes than on the river here. It’s not the best picture, but the best of the 3 I managed to get. And in the picture just above is the pine marten that visited us the other morning. He hasn’t been back since. I better stop, my laptop is starting to have problems again.
