Well, that’s it for this time everyone, have a great night/day wherever you are in this big world!
Steve and Muffin.
Good morning everyone! It’s a bit on the chilly side this morning with a temp of 54F (12C), but it’s a beautifully sunny morning! Not a leaf is moving it is so still out there, except when the birds move among the branches. Jasper and the chipmunks report. I had put a fresh batch of peanuts out and Jasper had just chased one chipmunk away. Then he decided to sit on top of the peanut box to protect his peanuts, or to see the chipmunks better, whichever. He sat facing east, Skamper came in the west door, filled up and left. Jasper just caught a glimpse of him leaving and went to face west. Pocket came in the east door, filled up and left. Jasper must have heard him and changed to looking south. Coffee came along the wall and into the box without being noticed. He likes to chew open the peanuts, he can carry more that way since he’s still kind of small. Jasper noticed the chewing and was looking around to see where it was coming from. He moved to the east side, then over to the west side.
That’s when Coffee raced out the east door and off to safety. Hard to imagine this happened 3 times. Then Jasper decided to start hauling peanuts away. He came back and saw a chipmunk just coming up onto the deck. The chase was on! The chipmunk ran past another box, but just then a chipmunk came running the other way past that box on the other side and that caught Jasper’s attention. He put on the brakes and went after that chipmunk which he likely thought was the same one, and the chipmunk went past the peanut box. Just then another chipmunk was just going off the deck in typical flying fashion. Jasper spotted it, turned abruptly and flew off the deck. He still doesn’t know how to do it like the chipmunks and he kind of tumbled onto the ground. But the chipmunk was gone. Meanwhile, 2 chipmunks filled up with peanuts before Jasper got back. I think Jasper ended up with just 3 peanuts. He would do better if he stopped chasing the chipmunks. Oh well.
Today we have another look at the wildflower called “harebell” as our featured image at the top. And in the pic below is another different delphinium. They have stopped blooming about 3 weeks ago now, but they add a nice touch of blue to the flower garden out here each summer. There are several different color variations and we will see a couple more yet.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.
