For a smile as wide as a country sunrise

Good morning everyone on this frosty Monday! It is another beautiful Monday with the birds cheerfully singing. Two loons fly past heading towards the lake. The gulls are calling loudly for their breakfast. Well, they were until I fed them before sitting down to write. Best to do that before the neighbors complain about all the noise out there. I needed to put the feeders out for the smaller birds anyway. I can’t leave them outside at night anymore or the raccoons get at them. They broke 3 of my feeders last year trying to get at the sunflower seeds. Even though yesterday started off with snow on the ground once again, the sun came out and melted the snow quickly and it turned out to be a nice day. Cool, but nice. Muffin was happier in the afternoon as well, she got to sleep in her sunshine, that makes for a nice day as far as she is concerned. It doesn’t really take much to make her happy.
And now for our daily look at some spring pics, though these are from a couple days ago…

In the above pic is a “double-crested cormorant”, I just wish he had been a little closer, but I have never been able to get close to these birds.
Another shot of the river shore in early spring, so nice and calm and peaceful. There we have our pics for this morning, I hope you have enjoyed them. Have a marvelous Monday, stay safe and God bless!

Good morning everyone! It is a cold, somewhat frozen, morning. But that didn’t stop the robins from singing loudly and joyfully early this morning. Followed closely by the sparrows and a flicker laughing in the distance. A loon flies overhead, joining in with laughter of his own. That barred owl is hooting not too far away. It seems to really echo this time, perhaps it’s the cooler air, or perhaps he is just in the right place to cause that kind of echo. Then there is the quack, quack from Maggie and Mike as they are outside searching for some food for breakfast. The purple finches are singing their lovely morning song and a ruby-crowned kinglet has joined in the chorus. Then some evening grosbeaks come and sit in the trees adding their song to the mix. Too cold to stand on the deck this morning, so I’m standing at the window enjoying the beauty of God’s wonderful creatures.
And now for today’s spring pics to share with you…

All pictures taken down by the river this past week. Hope you all have a happy Sunday, stay safe, and God bless!
