For a smile as wide as a country sunrise

Good morning everyone! It is a beautiful spring morning here, that nice fresh spring smell is in the air. Each day there are more and more birds singing joyfully in the trees. Perhaps we can’t get out as much as before, but we can open the windows and listen to that wonderful music as the birds wake up each morning. Or if you’re not a morning person, then the birds do the same thing in the evening, usually until after it gets dark. And in the spring they often will sing all day long. Each species having it’s favorite time of day for singing their cheery songs to help us through our days. I would like to say thanks to everyone for contacting WP over the comments issue, the problem has been fixed now and comments are back to normal.
And Muffin is very happy now too. She gets to have her door open during the day. She can sleep in the sun. And if the sun gets too hot right by the window, then she moves to a slightly less sunny spot for awhile to cool down a bit, before moving back into the sun again. But her early morning routine doesn’t really change. She likes to have her playtime with her fuzz ball and she always likes me to join in with her. I enjoy that part too. She is quite content being indoors. She is strictly an indoor cat, too many dangers out there to let her go outside. But she doesn’t mind. She has a very simple list of needs. And she is very content with what she has. We can learn a lot from animals sometimes.
And now for some different pics. I keep trying to get pics of Sir George taking flight after picking up his food. Not as easy at it sounds but here are a couple…

This one was from last summer. Not the best pic I will admit and it would have been nice to have him centered in the pic at least. But like I said, not so easy to do. For a big bird they move amazingly fast, even when I’m standing there ready for him. Sigh.
This one was from just the other day, turned out a bit better, even though not quite airborne. But I will keep trying for one. Still, I like the way this one turned out.
I hope you all have a wonderful day, stay safe and God bless!

After pressing the X twice like that, I heard a slight noise and turned to my right and just behind me on that wall…another door had opened. Could I have pressed that X twice the last time without realizing it? I took my flashlight and shone it down this new passageway. This one was a bit different, it was clean, meaning it’s in use. I called for Muffin. She answered with a plaintive meow. Hmm, not far in front of me was a hole in the floor, from side to side of the passage and about 6 feet long. I shine my flashlight down the hole and sure enough, there is Muffin…and a skeleton. Meow, meow!=About time you find me! Meow, meow!=Get me out, not like being down here with “skinny”. She was referring to the skeleton. We have learned to be better prepared for things now. I made a stretcher just for such a job as this. I lower it to Muffin and she climbs on and I lift her out easily.

How did this happen Muffin? Meow, meow.=When you push X this door open at same time as bedroom door. Meow, meow.=Me see spider and chase, but not watch floor as spider climbs wall. Meow, meow.=So I fall in hole. Not nice, embarrassing. That’s okay Muffin, we have found a new passage and because this one is clean, it is obviously being used. Perhaps this will lead us to JR. Meow, meow?=Muffin hungry, we eat first? Sure thing Muffin, I’m hungry too, then we can explore this new passage. Meow!=Okay! Hmm, one problem, how do we open this door? It had closed again once I got inside. And there was no X anywhere. This is not good. Meow!=Right here! I look and right down by the floor in the corner was a small round button, almost looked like a nail, so I gave it a push but it didn’t move or do anything with the door. So I pulled it and sure enough the door opened. How sneaky.

Out we come into the bedroom and….What?! The lawyer was sitting in the chair. I went over to him and saw the blood, he had been stabbed and was dead. Meow!=This not good! It certainly isn’t a good thing. I ran and looked out the front door which was open and there was the lawyer’s car sitting in front of the house. It’s a good thing there are no close neighbors. Still, someone could have seen his car come down the road. If I call the police that would really cause some difficult questions for us and possibly put us in jail. Someone is trying to get rid of us and I know it’s that man and woman that are after JR. I go back in the bedroom, we have to do something with this body Muffin? Meow?=Bury it? Well, no, but put it somewhere else so we don’t get blamed for this.

Let’s get something to eat and think about this in the library. Meow.=Okay. We get some food and head to the library and check around to make sure it hasn’t been bugged. Okay, now we can eat and think this through. Meow.=Dump body in hole with “skinny”. Not a bad idea but after a few days that wouldn’t work out so good. We’ll have to wait until it gets dark and take him and his car somewhere closer to town, park it and walk back to the house. Meow, meow.=You walk, I sit on shoulder. That’s fine. Hmm, no, we need to do it now and get rid of this body fast just in case those people call the police. Hopefully they are not that smart. So, after eating we put the body in the car and drive close to town and stop next to a small park that is on the edge of town. I turn the car around so it looks like he was heading out our way, put the body behind the steering wheel and we leave fast.
To be continued.
