For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone! For a few days I will be showing some nice wintry photos from around here. I was awakened at 5am today by the sound of fireworks from our town’s winter carnival. It’s just a small carnival which began Friday evening with quite a large fireworks display, large for us anyway.

I’m not sure why they had fireworks this morning though, but they must have had something special happening early this morning. Anyway, it gave me the idea to have my own blog winter carnival where I will just show some winter photos for you to enjoy. Have a great week everyone and God bless!

Happy Sunday everyone! Well, here it is, March 1st. It was cold again this morning. About -31F (-35C). People were actually talking about spring coming soon today. It’s only March 1st. And it’s cold. We normally have snow on the ground until the third week of April and sometimes later.
Seems a bit early to think of spring. Well, I guess it’s never too early to “think” about spring coming. Or dream about it. Even though it is cold. But, we don’t have much snow, so it could melt early and give us an early spring.

Fringed Loosestrife
That would be very nice indeed. I would be very happy with that. Then I can get outside and do some walking. Right now there is still too much ice and snow on the sidewalks, and for me, that means “danger, stay inside!”

Wood Sorrel
So, instead of going out for a walk and falling, I fall inside instead. At least it’s warmer. Still hurts. I won’t go into details of why I fell. It isn’t pretty.

Clintonia
However, today’s wildflowers certainly are pretty. And bold. And bright. And very yellow. So, I hope they will bring a little cheer and brightness into your home today. Have a great day everyone and God bless!
